But I don't think that will work in this case because it's the police that issued the statement that he committed suicide. And it's the same police that's conducting autopsy.

The right thing to do in every death , even if the cause of death is obvious is to do autopsy

Remember he died in the presence of others. Also his family can allege that he was murdered by the other people in the room with him, or even murderer elsewhere. Hence the need for an autopsy so that if the case reaches court, the autopsy report can be used as evidence that there was no murder done.

It's just that in this country we are too used to burying people without autopsy unless na celebrated case or unless someone really insists

The autopsy would most likely be done by pathologists at a nearby teaching hospital

The family of the man can also pay for their own independent autopsy ( yes they have the right to do so.)
