In my place of work we normally do end of year rice contribution to help ourselves so the burden won't be much.
This year we did 10k monthly that's 120k.
Below the is we package we received today.
Wished I had voice, would have suggested 1 n half bag of rice, most of this items they included don't freak me..
The items include
Rice
1 cartoon of Gino tomatoes (sachet ones)
5liter g.oil
4liter p.oil
2 packets of salt
1 bama
Maggi
Dish washing liquor n
Dental floss/toothpick

Pls guy check it out n point out your observations.

Total ≈ N105k give or take 10k. I wouldn't exactly say you were cheated but the organisers can do better

God this from a dealer Ibadan. I got the 110k for my uncle and 70k for other people. This includes free delivery.

You even get extra pack of salt. It would have been better saving the 10k monthly in a piggy bank and Im sure you would have gotten more than those items.

I bought
50kg Long grain foreign rice
1 paint of mellow
2 paint of beans
5 litres of red oil

All from Ejim farms, it was delivered with 6k for less than 100k

You cant use retail price to calculate the value

The essence of cooperative is pull resources to achieve more.

If the total value of foods receive is not more than 120k(140k and above) then it is not worth it.

This food contribution trend is still somehow new so the organisers will want to appear transparent and give value for money. By the time it becomes more popular and more people jump in, that's when those organisers will start scamming Nigerians anyhow, people should shine their eyes o.

Don’t mind that guy that said he bought rice 45k , ask him where he bought it , even in Cotonou rice is 46k there and they will use 10k carry it reach Lagos or Ibadan that is 56k and the seller will add her profit let say the seller sell that rice 65k , that groundnut oil is around 22k , palm oil let’s say 12k that 3 sef don reach 100k , now calculate the rest they add for you , plus their transportation to market… you should thank your office people Dey do well and dem Dey honest

Do you know that the contributions also yielded interests over the months? Let's ignore that, 120k can do better than the items procured. Things like this don't attract me. If I can't be disciplined enough to save myself, then I leave it. Better manage things yourself.
