It wouldn't happen. The military is a national service, and this will trigger labour crises in the other public service sectors. |

I hope it is implemented University employees and all government employees should get that 300k as minimum wage or at least 250k. Professors are the equivalent of a major general and should get up to 2m monthly too. |

Money doesn't bring about PATRIOTISM. We have legislators, NNPC, CBN,PENCOM,NCC staff earning millions still sabotaging the country in different ways. Patriotism can only be demanded by a leadership that leads by example and ready to burn themselves for the country. No amount of money can buy it, hence Nigerians cannot be patriotic because the leaders are not. |

MadamExcellency:Are you saying that's too much or too meagre? For me it's too tiny. That's terrible. Ordinary 2.5M monthly for a Brigadier Gen. I was expecting at least 5M |
| Re: New Salary For Nigerian Soldiers: A Private Will Now Earn 300k: by MadamExcellency: 3:03pm On Dec 21, 2025 |
APOPTOSIS:It should be harmonised across all sectors. A professor with a PhD is equivalent to a Major General and resident doctors should be paid corresponding wages. Doing this will make every sector feel rewarded and valuable. |

The Nigeria police force will protest for an increase in their salary, so I don't see any possibility of Nigeria government agreeing to pay such amount, when they know it's going to cause some crisis in some other ministries.. |

If this is true I'm surprised a lot of people here are not seeing the handwriting on the wall, Tinubu is scared of coup and instead of offering good governance, he wants to buy up the military, the implication is that it may become hard to plot a coup against him, it will show favoritism towards towards the military, it may cause chaos in other government agencies, the military may become more loyal to him than to the country and the people, a lot of youths may willingly run to take up military jobs because of the pay. And their loyalty may be to Tinubu first than to the constitution, the people and the country, sometimes people wonder how people like Paul Biya have remained president for over 40 years, they actually started like this. |
