Hi everyone if you are thinking of buying the Airtel smart tv android box because it unlimited please do not buy. They are running ads saying it unlimited but it’s not. I bought my airtel smart Tv Box last month i read both good and bad review but everyone’s consensus was that it was unlimited. So I proceed to buy from the airtel E-shop had it register and it was a beautiful experience didn’t buffer and I would give them 5stars a week later the free unlimited subscription finished thinking it was a promotional data I happily proceed in buying the 30k unlimited package on the 12th of this month only for the connection to stop working this morning what could be wrong i called the customer service only for them to tell me my data has exhausted how come it unlimited now they told me it 100Gb not satisfied I went on to X(twitter) and I stated my complain here is my screenshot conversation with them. This is fraudulent and customer exploitation I bought that unit because of the unlimited package and how it was tailor to suit me please I need help on how to take this further if possible sue them, airtel must be sanction for this fraudulent scheme. I need this on front page. Please.

I hope this hit homepage. nlfpmod This is a deliberate act to defraud customers. After taking money for unlimited, they first gave 100g later they added 60g. I just someone else will not fall victim. |

If you have mtn fibre x present in your location, just go for their fibre service. It's truly unlimited and it's 25k per month. |

Badb0y4lyf:Nigeria is yet it be that profitable for unlimited internet No platform gives unlimited internet Now ,there are so many arguments about this But having worked as a cable boy in the top 3 telecom firms in Nigeria .. working in both 3g and 2g server rooms...it's too expensive to give unlimited data Because if they do They will throttle it at certain usage.. I don't believe in unlimited internet But only starlink has been able to give something close , because I have never been able to exhaust starlink in a month with the highest I have seen been 6-10 terabytes in a month..Airtel can't give me that This guy's do share infrastructure,so how do they manage it when mtn cannot give that |

Truth be told, 4G router was running unlimited packages for a month. Recently it is limited to 5G router and Out Door Unit ODU. However, the person that activated it for you is the person that should tell you that the complimentary data is not unlimited. By the way, did you asked at the point of activation? Additional, changes should happen asap to conform with the current reality (value of data customer derives) |

Achor1111:Im not bothered about the complimentary data they can change that anytime since it’s free. I subscribe the 30k unlimited 20 which is unlimited to the best of my knowledge but now they say it’s 160GB and they never updated it anywhere even as we speak |

The only service that offers true unlimited in this country is Starlink. No speed cap, no data cap. Whatever speed is available in your location is what you get. |

dustmalik:This is no doubt cus i personally used more than 5TB on Starlink |

HawkTuahGirl:No wonder my unlimited data for my 4g router stopped working! I took it to their office and they couldn't explain why. I was told to come and buy the 5g router. It means they are deliberately moving subscribers of unlimited plans off their 4g router to frustrate them to buy the new 5g or outdoor router. Nigeria is a c.rim.e scene. |
| Re: Airtel Fraudulent Unlimited Data by HawkTuahGirl: 5:23pm On Dec 22, 2025 |
Beninwitch:I just went to airtel website now. There are conflicting messages there. Anybody recharging from now henceforth to either go to their office for better explanation or just subscribe from Opay. I think they are trying to phase out the unlimited package, and they still selling it. Only customer with ODU will have unlimited. Which they cap at 25k. It even better for anybody subscribing again to just go for the ODU since both device, installation and services and subsequent recharging is also 25k |

HawkTuahGirl:The airtel service isn't so bad but how can you have an android box with capped data It’s just not worth it. I bought it just so I can watch live match and stream movies aside Netflix and still connect my phones at home, my Tv is Samsung and I don’t like the Tizen OS. Airtel still markets all the 4G devices as unlimited as I speak and I bought it with the guarantee that it’s has unlimited data as advertised but they renegades on it. The ODU is not available everywhere and what will give me assurance that they won’t stop the unlimited again. It’s just better to boycott Airtel totally |

Betnomore:It’s not about explanation anymore it’s about what I order vs what I got. I contacted it tho. |
| Re: Airtel Fraudulent Unlimited Data by HawkTuahGirl: 7:05pm On Dec 25, 2025 |
Badb0y4lyf:We get manageable airtel service in my area. But so far is unlimited is the reason I am subscribing. The options are not much here, its either Airtel or MTN. If ODU is available, I will explore it. Its will be cheaper and better alternative. This what Airtel is selling as UNLIMITED on 4g devices on their website now You get 100GB and 2GB daily upon exhaustion of initial bundle value valid for 30days.

Achor1111:The one I bought only came with 120GB data, but that's not even my problem. Major problem is that I'm now trying to do the "unlimited data" on my own but it keeps telling me that I'm not eligible for the bundle. Does anybody have any idea how I can resolve this, please? Their customer care have been quite helpless

It's crazy issues like this happens. Clearly stated "Unlimited" which is deceptive. I have been on Starlink since February 2023, and it's expensive because I get my monies worth. However, if I got a better option I'm switching ASAP. In other countries you dispute the charges and the bank reaches out to them. |
