Maduro is Cuba trained puppet .
Much as I want Ukraine war to end and Zelensky to lose ,I am no fan of communists. Communists brook no dissent. Russia ,China , North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela ,add liberal Brazil.

Oil is a curse to many nations. I have ever floated this idea to nations when it comes to mineral wealth.

Nationalize the natural resource. Then since the countrymen wil just loot , hire expatriates with strict performance targets. In the case of oil there are so many retired western executives who successfully ran huge oil companies. Very many. Hire them on a salary and performance targets..
Get international auditors to audit the oil companies. Either
Deloitte
PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers)
EY (Ernst & Young)
KPMG
These companies cannot risk their reputation,they will do a good job.

Hire the McKinseys and Bain to lay down the strategic organization of these govt owned companies

Sit back and let the guys earn the country money .
They will make more money than having your fellow corrupt countrymen with their parochial interests.

Oil is a curse. The black gold. I do hope you like how the Chinese have brought modern infrastructure to Africa. Stuff we only saw in the movies.
When the evil empire finally falls ,brought down by the enemies within it, China will be the sole superpower. With their population ,we shall take pride having Chinese shoe shiners and Keke drivers.
It's not going to happen soon , so I'll leave it to my children to learn mandarin.

I didn't know this. Venezuela oil has to be diluted with naptha to make it flow through a pipeline.
Venezuela exports it's heavy crude oil to American refineries A byproduct from the same refined oil , naptha is then shipped to Venezuela .

In other words Venezuela oil needs naptha in order to be pumped into storage or to distant refineries. Venezuela imports this naptha, which is a byproduct of oil refining. It cannot produce it's own dilutent. With sanctions back , it's no longer getting the dilutent from America, Russia is now it's source.
The source cannot sell it's product without a byproduct from its own source that it has to import.

When socialists come into power they must get rid of anyone who can impede their grand march to utopia. How is this not stupidity from Venezuela? Chavez fired 18,000 workers and replaced them with cronies , now only 3 out of 6 refineries are operating .
