Tell him that there are numerous policemen who do not bear firearms. Tell him that before the recent years, police personnel went about town with batons and not guns. A person carrying a baton is armed also, if he does not know. He needs to know that every security agency trains their personnel on securing the lives and properties of citizens, whether carrying guns or not. Tell him that if our leaders make our societies secure, they do not need security men with guns escorting them and their family members upandan.

Very selfish people, so what happens to the 200 million Nigerians that have been deprived of security due to the allocation of policemen to VIPs all this years. So now because they needs to go to their villages the president should return the police and suspend their withdrawal from them; how selfish can our leaders be. undecided

Actually Akpabuyo can walk alone on foot at 1 am in any part of Akwa Ibom without any harm. The people love him. He has nothing to worry about in his state. The people believe he's doing well for them, so anyone will see it a blessing to see him trek alone at any part of Akwa Ibom. I'm sure he's talking about some of our northern brothers who are unpopular with the masses. I visit Akwa Ibom frequently.

for your information the NPF isn't commissioned to provide private protection for individuals. in the other hand NSCDC is equally a trained agency in handling of arms and ammunition, protection and provision security.

the police is only being deployed to face their core business of policing than play the role of PA, bodyguard and serving as maid going on errands to socialite and who ever can afford their services even when they don't need, at the expense of you and I they are meant to secure.

To buttress your point, NSCDC are in charge of registering and certifying ALL private guard firms in Nigeria.

So who better to provide VIP security to FG personnel in need of such?

NPF should return to core policing make country better small!
