BlueRayDick:Arteta doesn't know his best eleven yet |

Gabzy1:Gyokeres is playing alongside better players than he had at Sporting. So whatever excuse we want to make for him about quality of passes doesn't hold for me. He is playing in a better league and so the initial challenges of adaptation will be there. What he needs now to improve himself is to find a way to eavde markers. He is a striker, the first thing a striker must do is to get away from markers and make himself available for that incisive pass to finish the goal. There was a case where Odegaard was attacking with the ball with Saka and Gyokeres besides him, he wanted to give Gyokeres that ball and he did, but Gyokeres changed the direction of his run which made it difficult for him to receive the pass cleanly. For now we just have to be patient |

Spy360:No, I disagree. That scenario was purely on Odegaard. It was suppose to be a one time pass, but Odegaard held on too long making Gyokeres confused on where he wanted to lay the pass. Seeing the fact that Gyokeres had changed position, Saka was the next best to pass to. |

We are so defensive we have forgotten how to create chances, Odegaard went from midfield maestro to midfield recycling |

iamoyindamola:I am beginning to accept Odegaard has finally lost it. He has become pitiful to watch for me. His plays have become predictable, boring and lacks incisiveness. This has been brewing since last season but we continued to pray but e be like say that Odegaard isn’t coming back. |

Roland17:The guy will just be turning in one place while recycling passes with saka. It's really frustrating, arteta need to find solution as soon as possible |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 7:44pm On Dec 21, 2025 |
Fkforyou:You can make a case for the bolded and I agree. I have already stated that he really intended to give Gyokeres the ball for obvious reasons. It's there in his body language. But as for the pass, Odegaard was right to hold on to the ball until a defender is pulled out of position, Gyokeres was initially making the right run outside right diagonally, had he stayed on course he would have received the ball without pressure and have the time and space to shoot. He changed direction and that led to the over weighted pass. If you're a player you will understand how a split second can change a decision |

Roland17:Injuries can take its toll on players psychologically. It has even affected Saka. With more game time their confidence will return. |

If truly Sesko was Arteta's 1st choice, I'm happy Berta went for Gyokores. That guy would have made the noise for Kai to just return so we loan him in January at this rate. |

Something i miss from Barclays era is that two top 4 managers, or more two top 10managers go meet, tactically ready and all. Small chances can change the entire game and by the time these two are meeting, the manager that won will not be guaranteed of winning or causing upset like the first time. Can Arteta do something different with the Aston Villa fixture coming up? Whatever that 1st game tactic was, it was puke worthy and fuulish. You want draw so bad you decided to waste time and a split second changed all of that. Why not also rely on a split second to cause upset? Why is the defending and time wasting more reliable to you than the taking of chances and getting the mix of players to give you the upper hand? If he likes make he no plan for a W. City and Villa will just make us 3rd in an instant. We can't continue this way o. Without opposition, we are too fo a longlong while. But we have bitter rivals that are chasing and getting closer each GW while we dey scrap upandan. Well we will get better. It better be some hibernation mode. |

daveP:Sesko is otule. I am happy too we didn't sign him because he is not better than Havertz and they are similar. If Havertz was available, our tactical approach would have been better because the coach would plan against teams having different options |

Palace played on Thursday, played on Saturday and are playing again tomorrow. This might not count but fatigue maybe a determinant tomorrow. I would like to see Kepa, Timber, Saliba, Hincapie, Myles, Norgaard, Merino, Ethan, Eze, Jesus and Nonso. Nichols and Saliba Jr can come in to relieve the regulars. Let's win tomorrow please |

daveP:you keep defending Gyokeres but each time that is being said, you tend to shift. Which stats, based on what and what did you come to convince yourself that Kai is one of the bottom ranked CF in our history. Whatever Gyokeres did last season was done last season with a different team not us. Na u dey set am up for drags shaa, but fortunately for some of us, we understand the phase he's currently at. He even made it clear in his last interview that he is yet to fully settle and understand the game and other players around him. As it stands now, Kai has 32 g/a in 61 epl games, so would you mind telling me how that represents being ranked bottom. ![]() |

daveP:Lethal in Portugal is like being poisoned by alcohol. Has any top scorer in Portugal succeeded anywhere else? Mention one. Abeg leave that thing. Havertz is better. |

germaphobe:That's the issue. They set him up and then blame us for correcting their wrong assertions tagging us haters. But in reality we love Gyokeres more than them because we don't have any of overblown expectations for him. The person he is calling best striker in Europe... Make I stop here |
