It's now dead-end with this evil government. This is the evil some people are supporting with their lives.

This one of the reasons Nigeria has been co-signed to dust bin. The so-called Nigerians, who claimed to be in the know, are the same goons who milk the public into submission.

Good initiative. But the fee should be minimal to avoid burdening vehicle owners.
What's good about it
Government does nothing in disposing old vehicles
All this unnecessary levies is just to make life more difficult
Iron condem already purchases vehicles at the end of it life and remolds them into something else of which those companies would still pay tax to the government, so what's the use of this levy

Being in Business is not Government business. Let the Private Sector continue to drive this while Government only regulate.

It will be another avenue to budget money that won't be used for the outlined purposes.

Let the Auto Second hand Market continue to be Private Sector driven.

This one no concern Government at all. If you can hands-off other critical Sectors, Auto Second hand market shouldn't be the one you need to enter.

Shameless cr.oo.oooks! All they know is pay this, pay that! Ordinary electricity that is readily available in other countries is a mystery here. Not one single positive thing the Ordinary Nigerian has enjoyed since 2023 that this man grabbed, snatched, and ran away with the mandate!

Yes, tax laws does not know political affiliation. Support a useless government, you become useless somehow in one way.

Isn't it rather funny that the things you complain about Tinubu are the things that are making Obidient me want to start liking Tinubu, lol.

"First, he removed fuel subsidy", which pleases me because no where is it written that you must drive by government's sweat.

"Then, he FLOATED the Naira", thereby eliminating a parallel exchange where some get a preferred rate that most of us can not get.

And "NEXT year, the 5% SURCHARGE (read tax)", and indeed tax, and for fixing our rubbish roads and to deter us from importing made in tokunboh junk when we should be creating jobs by making in Nigeria.

But you see all this as murder, when I see it all as making us responsible.

You see, less than 30% of us Nigerians went out to vote at the last election, and less than 9 million elected the president while the rest of us sat on our asses at home and couldn't be bothered, but now moan when the elected president sticks his filthy fingers in our pockets and takes our hard earned money as tax he's not accounting to us.

These policies of his will wake us up to be more responsible when the next election comes so like 80% of us might get off our asses and bother to vote in someone we prefer. Or of course we can continue in our irresponsibility so Tinubu taxes us some more.

Tinubu might indeed be "trying to MURDER Nigerians", but the choice of dying is completely entirely ours!
If all these epistle of yours is driven towards campaign for the man who imports toothpicks and foreign milk into Nigeria then you better try hard because there's just no way under heaven he will become the president. If you think Tinubu is underperforming and you need a viable alternative, will you support Sowore? Of course no.

Some times you have to understand why people doing business in lagos never liked tinubu. Multiple taxes and zero accountablility. This is nothing but slavery laced with democratical rope

Tinubu's govt is here for nothing innovative and transformative than to milk 200m Nigerians without the hope of a glimpse of anything close to what "Renewed Hope" actually means in reality.

For whatever cause you his fanboys and girls have to believe in his ways, let him just disappear and his entire history and doings in office will fade faster than the deeds of many now forgotten State Governments since 1999.

The Nigerian population is nothing but tally figures to strike pennies from them without a chance to help them with

Better Education
Better Trade and Commerce
Better Transport
Reform in Health sector
Security solutions
Improvement in Standard of Living
Changes in Cost of Living
job creations

Its all about capturing State Governors to join before 2027.

O maa se o!!

It is hilarious sha. What a legacy!!!

In other words, vehicle registration is going to increase.

These people will stop at nothing until they start to tax the air being breathed and the ozone layer depletion by generator usage.

The revenue will be stolen and used to buy more SUVs and starched agbadas.

Shameless fuuuuuls

Nothing Nigerians has benefited from this Tinubu government but lavishing Nigerians in poverty, hunger, hardship, inflation, high costs of living, high rate of unemployment and still want to tax Nigerians with no mercy

In developed countries, when you buy a new vehicle, during registration, you make a payment towards the disposal of that vehicle when it reaches the end of its life.
.

What part of Nigeria did they confuse to be a developed country?

But in developed countries, they pay you for recycling your stuff not the other way round. See what tribalism has done to nigeria! One would think democracy would have benefitted the people under a yoruba president but the reverse is the case
..the Tinubu government is just looking for money to pay back the loans they collected and debts... and also looking for money to fund their high costs of governance and luxurious life style and also enrich themselves..so they have put the burden on Nigerians to do this through tax

Re: FG To Introduce Mandatory Vehicle Recycling Fee From 2026 by Joshcoli(m): 1:13pm On Dec 22, 2025
Every new policy from this government comes with the same meaning: pay more, suffer more, ask no questions.

Fuel subsidy was removed and life became unbearable. The naira was floated and everything exploded in price. Transport, food, rent, cars, survival itself is now expensive.

Now, in the middle of hunger and insecurity, the government wants to introduce a vehicle recycling fee.

This is not reform. This is insensitivity.
Before adding another charge, explain where the trillions saved from fuel subsidy went. Nigerians cannot fund policies when they cannot feed their families.

You cannot talk about “modernising the auto industry” while citizens are struggling to stay alive.

People are not rejecting recycling; they are rejecting a government that keeps piling costs on a population already crushed by inflation and unemployment.

Enough is enough.
Fix accountability. Fix living conditions.
Stop taxing survival.

As minimal as the hike in petrol price instead of the promised crash of January 2023?

Why do you think that Tinubu and APC are such wicked TAX monsters huh

chisomkachy:
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s first supplementary budget includes a fleet of SUVs for himself and his wife, a presidential yacht and the renovation of his villa amid a cost-of-living crisis for some of the poorest people in the world.

The proposal — which seeks additional funding beyond the annual budget approved by Tinubu’s predecessor — comes as the government asks Nigerians to persevere through pain caused in part by a raft of economic reforms ushered in by the new president. Africa’s most populous country faces rampant unemployment, soaring food prices and a plummeting currency.

Federal lawmakers approved the president’s request for extra spending on Thursday, but eliminated the provision of 5 billion naira ($6.01 million) to buy a presidential yacht. Instead, they doubled the allocation to a student loan fund to 10 billion naira, according Abubakar Bichi, chairman of an appropriations committee in the House of Representatives.

The lawmakers approved 1.5 billion-naira proposed to purchase SUVs for the office of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu — an amount larger than that allocated to many individual federal colleges. The supplementary budget also proposes almost 6 billion naira to purchase SUVs for the presidency — more than the amount initially allocated to fund a student loan program for poor families.

Good initiative.
Good initiative to generate revenue for stealing by Tinubu to bribe politicians?

Bribe politicians for his reelection and then use it for his 3rd term to get life president like Biya?

Tinubu is set to succeed where Obasanjo failed despite his Ghana must go bags of NASS bribes.

NaijaRoyalty:
…Says Buhari doesn’t have my kind of money

However, Buhari doesn’t have the kind of money I can steal neither does he have the money I can collect. He doesn’t even have the money for Lagos votes. So, whatever I promise, it’s for real and is coming from my pocket. It’s not until I go to Alausa before I get money to give you.”

Addressing APC supporters on the need to deliver votes, Tinubu said handsome cash rewards await those who can deliver votes for the party.

He said he would not make mistakes of the past where people would collect money in advance and not deliver on election day.

Tinubu added, “Those of you that say you come to Bourdillon for mobilisation, it is mobilisation that we are doing here or don’t you understand? Definitely, if you know people in your neighbourhood, our members, how we used to do.

Relax, it’s Tinubu that’s in charge or do you think the Tax is to enrich himself? Tinubu is too old to be seeking money he’s already got.

200 million Nigerians love it so, just like 20 million Lagosians have been loving it for 26 years now.

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.
