We spent more than 1 hour from Ladipo to Oshodi (after Lastma Office).

One of the major problems are the ongoing road constructions. That's what's causing hours of traffic at Sagamu and Benin

You expect over 1000 or more vehicles to pass one lane. When one vehicle breaks down there (of which the probability is high), the whole place becomes something else.

People spent more than 7 hours at Benin Byepass two days ago.

Even when there is no road construction Nigerias will find a way to cause a big traffic pile up. Nigerians lack lane discipline. Spent more than hour just between Okukpon and Ofosu on the Benin - Ore expressway. I was traveling from Warri with my dad as we were approaching the bypass I wanted use the by-pass but my dad said no we should pass through Benin city. I am glad I listened.

I'm not ruling out indiscipline, but the conditions will actually set people up for that.

They know the traffic on these roads will be triple the usual. Why not find a way to make it easier? Open one or two lanes to ease it. Create alternative routes and direct traffic there.

But closing a lane, and then leaving everybody to their fate would only compound issues

Detty December is one of the most ingenious tourism initiatives, dragging in economic activity from the diaspora, even 2nd and 3rd generation diaspora who will otherwise be spending their money elsewhere.

And I know it grew wings naturally not through any concerted effort of Government. The person who coined the phrase Detty December has done more for Nigerian tourism income than all Ministers of tourism since OBJ put together.
