Ibime:There is a deeper sense of identity amongst all generations of “Abroadians” and that is fueling the desire to identify with home. The motivation for each generation vary but each has a strong tie to home. Private citizens, particularly those in Nigeria have done more in promoting Nigeria than the Government. Our food, fashion, music, lifestyle have gained a ton of traction over the last 5 years. Shey na insecurity and poor economy Government wan use sell tourism? Finally, the sorry state of the Naira now makes luxury affordable in a short span for Abroadians. That means with small change saved over 6-7 months, Abroadians can afford to flex Naija like a wealthy pesin, then return Abroad to dey hustle him cleaner/ menial job. |

I can't but find this "car spotting" nonsense disturbing and breach of people's privacy .🤦♂️
You will be driving peacefully at a roundabout or at the entrance gate of a public building like club, event center or hotel and boom! Camera gets flashed on Ur face with a handful of guys shouting Ur name on top of their voice hailing you so they can make content to post on their social media pages without Ur consent. |

bolu96:I saw it coming from the day I read they imposed an indisposed man as chairman and the son as vice chairman. Congratulations to their family. Goodluck to the people who served the father and will continue to serve the son long after the father may have exited the political scene. Hopefully the crumbs from the family's table will be enough for their good governance needs |

BlueRayDick:Well it is the price of being a celebrity Nigerian paparazzi in the social media age. And with the way our celebrities pursue social media clout I am sure they have no issue with this |

IJGBs too overdo. In Lagos, dem don make products and services unaffordable for the locals. Every time, dem go set camera. GRWM as I go to the salon to get my braids done for $50. Come with me to get my nails done for $30 GRWM as I visit my fashion stylist for my asoebi outfit. The result: Lip Gloss - 70k Braiding of hair - 200k. Fixing of nails - 277k Doing make up - 500k Medium-grade ankara boubou - 200k Shortlet apartment for 11 nights - £9000 (N17.5m) etc etc Truly, many Nigerians vendors/service providers dey greedy and exploitative but IJGB too contributed to this price hike madness by turning their visit into flex olympics and trying to impress online strangers. Many salons. hotels, malls and shops dey for area wey IJGB fit waka into and pay reasonable prices but dem no go go those places. Dem dey find the ones with marble floors, gigantic mirrors, screeded walls that are aesthetically pleasing to shoot content in. Me, I cannot relate sha. I left Lagos years ago. My barber dey barb my hair for 1k. My daughter and wife made their hairs on Sunday. Wifey fixed her nails too. It was home-service and they spent about 10k. At this rate. make everybody just forget about Detty December and go their villages go dey chase fowl. |

izzou:Sometimes I get amused when I see people defending government's actions both here and on the internet generally. I see them defend land grabbing by government without paying fair compensation as the law prescribes and some of them will even be quiting laws they don't even understand its practical application. When u tell people that government can take over a property with all documentations complete, they will Sneer at you and make it seem like u are making a false assumption just to call the government a bad name. Government takes over a land in a place like Ojuelegba In Lagos, instead of paying a fair compensation they are offering 23 million that will not even buy the same quantity of land in a place like Ipaja, Ayobo, Abule Ẹ̀gbá or Egbeda. Government will rather spend millions upon millions in court as legal fees than pay the fair compensation for the land which the same government approved all title documents. Sometimes I think the punishment God gave to Nigerians is wicked Nigerians embedded in government and civil service. Imagine the Lawyers handling the case on behalf of the family had to be appealing to the governor of the state to intervene at an event organized to celebrate the patriarch of the family which the Lagos state government was an active participant......😭 |

GloriousGbola:So because some celebrities like clout, me wey no like clout must bear the brunt by allowing some random person to film me in my private moment and post me on his page without my consent? I can understand if I go for an event and I see photographers and paparazzi falling over themselves to take pictures and create content. But u driving at a roundabout and having to deal with camera poking into Ur car to see what U have going on at that moment just seem a bit upsetting for me Sha |

semid4lyfe:I don't blame the vendors at all. It's all about demand and supply na ; and then the social media angle u mentioned. The GRWM videos flying everywhere has a very strong connection to how vendors now price their services so high this period but the fact that we have people willing to pay those prices will leave the vendors smiling to the bank and some home based Nigerians fuming. My spouse wanted us to do family Christmas pyjamas shoot. She made inquiry from the guy who did our wedding shoot and I was seeing the price ranging from ₦120k, ₦180k, ₦250k and ₦300k depending on the package u choose 😂 I just told her to fall back to the guy who did our maternity shoot because that one's price was still reasonable compared to all these ones wey Wan collect my 4 years tuition fees through university in one sitting just to snap and edit our pishures ![]() I'm sure when the season ends vendors will fall back to default settings, some of them will even use promotional offers and discounts to nearly wound-jure their home based customers when patronage drops. |

BlueRayDick:O ti jasi. You fit use Gemini AI run photos that are clean and crisp, and look like they was taken with a high-end camera by a professional. All you gats do is upload your real pics followed with a detailed prompt and AI will do the rest for you. If prompting na the issue, use the AI to prompt AI. You'd get amazing results and when you really hack it, you wouldn't need to step into a studio ever again. |

izzou:\ this is why i could not tell Naz how his building would be costed for land use charge the figure is largely subjective - and made worse by lagos real estate bubble. we also experienced same when LASG took over some of our sites. that is when you ill be told you are being paid the value of the land not the assets on it or something like that also this i doubt total cost of floodlight pass 400k each and pole max 200k

DissTroy:For the umpteenth time, Apple has no backdoor. UK government wanted a backdoor,or to become a gatekeeper themselves but Apple refused because it would jeopardize their encryption globally. The only thing close to "gatekeeping" Apple did was remove ADP in the UK... leaving the users to standard data protection. |

BlueRayDick:Anyone who knows where AKTC is at Ojuelegba, will know the place. That's close to the bridge...The heart of Ojuelegba itself. After verifying documents and seeing that truly, they own it. They are offering 23 million naira as compensation. And like you said, they are willing to spend 100 million on lawyers, rather than be considerate. It's a lesson for those who would never see anything as absurd. Talk about the government, and thy are willing to defend at all costs. When e go reach your turn, you go understand! |
