My friend is an agent. For some two years now he has only been getting money from people looking to rent houses.

Nothing serious. Just some 10k here, 25k there etc. (you know this agent business, sometimes up to 5 agents share the spoils on a single house)

Now fast forward to two weeks ago, he was part of a land deal and got over 800k as his portion.

He was able to save 400k from the beginning of the year till now.

So he wants to add his 400k to the 800k and buy second hand keke of 1.2m

He is doing this because he heard that keke riders make up to 300 to 400k a month.

I don't know for any other location, but I know that in uyo the type of lives keke riders live doesn't depict 300k monthly earnings. (I might be wrong)

I am not looking down on any body so please spare me all the dignity of labour activism.

By the way I think those riders make up to that or more depending on region and how they work. Don't use people's lifestyle to judge their bank balance, alot of them drink alot, they spend on several women carelessly, some are paying back the over inflated lease on their tricycle and some save up judiciously for a more serious future project.

Besides, riding doesn't stop you from doing your agency work does it? It only gives you more options.

However, reality check🥲 All businesses have their downtimes. Everyday can't be christmas.🥲

On average, I very much doubt it, not after expenses like petrol, tyres, brake pads, repairs, etc., and health, theft, and accidents, which can put one out for weeks and even total the second hand keke, and therefore zero income.

But I must confess my absolute and complete ignorance here, and am only responding in appreciation of the mind and thoughtfulness that has made you ask, and which I find to be very commendable indeed.

I hope more knowledgeable people provide better answers so I too may learn.

You can make money in any endeavor, just know the in and out, then add hardwork and commitment. Not that after buying the keke, you will only go to hustle when there is no money in your pocket. Hustle like your life depends on it cos it truly does. Anything too, Some keke riders have skills and handwork. An electrician who rides keke may collect contract of house wiring somewhere, and when he starts spending money on enjoyment, you will think it's the keke that gave him all the money.
Thirdly, remember that their are thousands of keke on the road, so after removing money for daily tickets, petrol, police settlement, maintenance, feeding etc, you MAY not see that 300k /400k monthly. I wish you all the best

I have several people whom I know personally who make up to that amount and even more riding Keke. At N10,000 daily for 30 days, that's N300,000 a month and this is conservatively speaking. The Keke guy that takes my kids to school says his weekly remittance to the owner of the Keke he drives is N50k and he gets to keep about 70 to 100k weekly. Do the maths.

There's money in Keke but your back go pain you if you work tomuch🤷🏿.

I'm speaking from a 4 years+ experience.

But then again,if na second hand keke bro,my hand no dey.

The second Keke I bought with my own 1.5M earlier this year,I spent over 600k just to put it in order... But unfortunately,it couldn't work out well and I ended up in debts of 150k..... Later sold it out for 750k..... Oya imagine the huge lost I encountered...Na why I wash my hands totally from anything that has to do with Keke......in fact,if anybody come my front come mention Keke,I dey consider such person to be my enemy 😡

So,I wouldn't even advise an enemy of mine to go down that route let alone a brother man.....

I was once a Keke rider in the city of Uyo. 2020- 2023. I'd advice if you want to get Keke, if not a new one, don't buy it. You'll regret.

Meanwhile I don't know how much they make now days but I know that you can make at least 10k a day.

Know also that the work is really stressful.

You see that Fairly used ehn, it can be the Beginning of High Blood Pressure.

First time Transport person should just buy something New ooo.
If not all the Money made will be spent on continuous Repairs.

I was conversing with a korope driver just last week, he told me that he makes 50k daily, or 40k (on a not so good day) after expenses. He plied Secretariat (Lagos) to Mowe/Ibafo axis for those who knows the area. I was shocked, these guys are making money.

I really don't know how much keke makes but considering how its cost starts flying from 800k to over 2 million and yet more people are buying it should tell you something...

Not many graduates here can boast of a bicycle talkless of a bike or minibus in my location.

If I were your friend, I may have opted for a minibus for longer reach.

There is no easy way to make money in Nigeria. Have been in transportation for some time now.Its dominated by people who don't go to school and u must roll with them else they will humble you. Later, u will be reasoning like them.
Then,when u do all these driving work for some time as a graduate and u are reaching 40+, something will be speaking quietly into ur mind daily dat... is this d kind of work u want to be doing till old age...why did u go to school... Instead of you to be using brain to make money,u are using muscle and sweat.

With your personal Keke you will comfortable make 300k or more in a month depending on location.
Just a trip of less than 20 minutes they can have over 2k. You see transportation if whatever means of transportation you are using if you are the owner you be big boy.
You can have nothing less than 60k running Warri to PH daily with a sound vehicle.

They make more thank that but spend carelessly.
A keke driver can make up to 20k per day after the daily reasonable expense.

Don't mind those people discouraging you, go buy your fairly used keke and ride it carefully, you ll succeed with it. Just make sure it's not an abused/over used keke.

but I know they make such monthly in Lagos

300 to 400k monthly is like 15k daily

please take a mechanic to check the keke before buying it...

Even if the Keke won't bring as much as 300/400k per month, it is better combined with the agency job. You are assured of daily income unlike the agency that is once a while. All the best in husstle.
