Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, caused a buzz in Akure on December 24, 2025, after he was seen casually stopping by a roadside vendor to buy boole, the popular roasted plantain snack.
The unexpected moment happened in the state capital, where the governor stepped out to interact freely with residents, exchanging greetings and engaging in brief conversations. His relaxed presence among the people quickly drew attention and excitement from those around.
The street interaction formed part of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s ongoing “Thank-You” tour across local government areas in Ondo State. The tour, which began in late December 2025, follows his recent electoral victory and the legal confirmation of his mandate.
Just days earlier, on December 17, 2025, the governor embarked on an inspection tour of key infrastructure projects in Akure, including the Irese Flyover as well as the dualization works on the Akure–Idanre and Ijoka roads.
Throughout his December engagements, Governor Aiyedatiwa has also been rolling out festive palliatives to residents and party members in celebration of the yuletide season. Earlier in the month, on December 12, 2025, he officially flagged off the construction of the 8.8-kilometre Akure–Ijare dual carriageway.
