Ndi "tax and spend government " are only desperate to increase the tax burden on an already pauperised population. Everyday, all we here are tax tax tax. Nothing else.. No significant infrastructural development going on with all the billions generated already. All they know is to tax the people to death and spend like a platoon of cassanovas |

nairalanda1:I don’t understand? That money they looted is it not meant for the citizens? Do they own the oil ? If that money is rightly utilized would things not have been better ? Lol |

nairalanda1:How many Nigerians have jobs with stable income How many private companies, schools pay minimum wage Is it not when there are good paying jobs we talk of tax. Oyedele wants to tax people earning 800k. That 66k a month. Can he survive on 66k a month |

Elzazzi:Play your part as a patriotic citizen first don't be on the negative side always... A responsible citizen avoid tax while irresponsible citizens evade tax |
| Re: Active Individual Taxpayers In Nigeria Less Than 10 Million — Taiwo Oyedele by nairalanda1(m): 6:31am On Dec 25, 2025 |
Elzazzi:No, I'm serious. They loot because they know they can replace the money with more oil or borrowing revenue. If most of our money for treasury came from taxes, people would not take it easy if someone was looting their money. That's why we have never had a true national revolution in this country. Awa money is something abstract, it is not something that we know comes from our pocket. |

nedu666:Good, so as a true agabroian, you can clap your hands when tinubu keeps on borrowing. ANd you can forget about good roads and good stuff. One million people cannot provide enough revenue for 230 million people. You are free to abuse me, I don't care. I am realistic, you are busy dreaming. |

nairalanda1:Let him borrow. Because even if you give Nigeria the entire foreign reserve of China it will still not have 24hrs electricity |
| Re: Active Individual Taxpayers In Nigeria Less Than 10 Million — Taiwo Oyedele by nairalanda1(m): 6:34am On Dec 25, 2025 |
nedu666:Like I said, you want us to borrow and keep borrowing. And you also believe that one million people can pay for 220 million others. I can't discuss with such people who are like that. If more of us paid tax, do you think that okowa would be looting? Ya think you go let am? Please go and sit down, and support your APC. |

| Re: Active Individual Taxpayers In Nigeria Less Than 10 Million — Taiwo Oyedele by deji17(op): 6:48am On Dec 25, 2025 |
Ponmoalata:Even when fuel subsidy, forex subsidy was on full swing , you deny benefitting from it. Right now public education, electricity, healthcare, infrastructure etc are still heavily subsidized. The day Govt decide to remove the subsidy and ask citizens to pay for the actual cost, that is when the noise will go up. Very few are currently paying tax, Govt wanted to widen the tax net , just so they can improve on our infrastructure, the noise is deafening , especially from those who are not paying and will still not be required to pay by law. |

Hi ksauthenticoi:Tax across the world from its originator are " PurPoseful" and duely accounted for ... No patriotic citizen will support a Tax regime we know is heavily marred with corrruption .. and a govt tew big for accountability Before we got here, VAT increase, stamp duty, levies hiked and above all the Subsidy removal what have being the economic gain The only mega project going on in Nig. by FG is just the coastal road financed by loan. Americans british citizen Pay Tax cos they know the funds are judicious expended on welfare services and betterment of the country For a tore pocket, putting big money wont change anything, have they dealt with corruption before widenly the Tax net ... so dont even bring " Patrotism" to gaslight Nigerians |

Good. Now tell us how many you’ve provided jobs for, or at least, conducive environments for business. You can’t tax people on money they sweat to make off their own efforts after you’ve failed to meet their basic necessities such as jobs, good roads, electricity, security etc. |

wellmax:Joke is on you. Your government wants to tax people they didn’t provide jobs for. Graduates are everywhere doing menial and sub-par jobs to survive but you expect government to tax on it? Where in the world does that work? |

| Re: Active Individual Taxpayers In Nigeria Less Than 10 Million — Taiwo Oyedele by Fujiyama: 7:05am On Dec 25, 2025 |
deji17:^^^ Not so fast. Its a two way street. Increasing taxes without public sector/institutional reform is a waste of time. The money will disappear and there will be nothing, absolutely nothing to show for it. Even a child knows that this tax revenue that Oyedele and his master are eyeing will be wasted on more Land Cruisers, Cadillac limousines, presidential aircraft and presidential yachts. Any little bit left over will go towards renovation of vice presidential palaces. There is nothing, absolutely nothing to suggest that this administration is acting in good faith. Why don't BAT and Oyedele publicly declare their tax returns as a show of good faith for all Nigerians to see? Isn't that true leadership - leadership by example? |
