The RCCG PARISH I attend, in Nigeria mind your share stuff once a month.
SpencerForbes:
Honestly, it feels like most people dragging Nigerian churches haven't actually experienced the good ones. I have to give credit where it's due—back when I was a regular at RCCG, they were consistent with sharing hamper with food items, and Christ Embassy does the same. Many churches even distributed bags of rice and other food items this Christmas. Just because your local branch didn’t show up for you doesn't mean others aren't doing the work.

The problem with us is poverty..

Why not reject the gift and drop a cent! Sincerely they will want to know you more. Instead of always receiving like Afghanistan people
Re: What I Was Given At A Church Service In The UK (Photos) by SeriouslySense(m): 10:56pm On Dec 25, 2025
That take and take attitude is really dusgraceful.

I was watching one video, one white man placed many free items like food and essentials. I saw other white people take only small or one thing they really needed at that time but one black man packed everything he could carry cheesy

Maybe we are complaining too much. Maybe we should show it to the less privileged around us. I have always wanted to visit the orphans.

Those at idp camps. Or those who lost families to attacks. Show them that Jesus loves them.
Bro the Nigerian factor is turning certain people into monsters. 2 years ago we gave a female worker at an orphanage home serious beating. She was secretly stealing and selling notebooks, and kids clothes gifted to the orphanage home, we've been tailing her, untill she was caught red handed. She mentioned names in positions even higher than hers in that orphanage home. Some were arrested but released hours later, after money exchanged hands.
Given the Nigerian factor, the next man wants to take advantage or exploit the kind gesture of the other. The average Nigerian is corruptly heartless and wicked.

Only man man will keep everything for himself. Something that was mearnt to be shared.

That makes a society weak. Instead of creating many opportunities for many, only few are lucky.

You are just talking off point. How many Nigerian churches have you attended?

My local church gives 60 packs of foodstuff every Sunday. Yes. 60. 60 pints of rice, beans, dodo etc.

We've been doing this since 2020 - COVID year!
Which church and location.

Better people go to those few churches.

If reason for going to church is because of gifts, or because pf the promise that if you give tithe you will get fifteen to five hundred times back..then forget about going to church. Na gifts and return on investment dem dey worship.
Most african churches are temples of marmont. They are not preparing the saints for the return of the King.

This is the very firdt time am going to church in my life and i received such gifts.

Our Nigerian Christian community don't practicalise love
By January they will call for first fruit... That's all ur salaries.
Remember this December they called for thanksgiving where members will bring or empty their purse.
Then we talk about tithe and offering
And unending seed sowing.

So i was excited to share to show love still exists in Christian communities.
Are you a Christian truly? Your statement against the Nigerian Christian Community is not truthful. Maybe, it's the Christian community you belong to...and a question to you is what has been your own contribution to the community since January till December? I have heard a lot of testimonies from Nigerians who relocated to the UK of the warm and friendly reception and support received from Nigerian Christian communities.

Some so-called Christian expects so much from the "church" without any sense of responsibility towards the church's finances. Does the church have a factory or industry that gives it money? NO!

Every individual is the "church" and is expected to contribute his/her quota to the church by voluntary giving, and faithful payment of tithes and offerings from which the church have to give also.

The mindset behind giving to and by the church is God-centred and not self-centred.

Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

How do whites do it, the one i attended did not collect money, i even offered money they refused.

I only spent to attend their conference in another country sha.

Maybe they accept contributions or they gain from organising events. But it seems they have checks and balances to checkmate greedy pastors.

The ones in Nigeria are so wealthy from over collecting.

I guess they do more giving than asking for tithes.
The whites are natural free givers. That's why they have lots of foundations. There are people that quietly fund the church heavily.

Stop condemning Nigerian churches from far. Attend some of big Nigerian churches as first timer and you would be amazed at the gift that you will receive.

I know a church in Abuja that shares trailer load of rice every quarter. We usually have super Sunday every quarter and there are always lots of items given out.

One thing about abroad is that people donate at will. I mean people don't use their things to the extreme before they discard or give it out and when they do, they give it to organisation that can give it out to those that needs it. But this is not kike that in Nigeria.

Organisations that gifts people have to do it with their money.

But what do I know.

you are contradicting yourself with the bolded there. first time of attending a church "in your life", yet you are dissecting a church inside out?

beside you don't know the church like you claim. you only judge the church based on hearsay
You're the one contradicting yourself , you say he's dissecting the church inside out , meaning he knows the church and in the next paragraph you say he doesn't know the church but only has hearsay 🤷🤷🤷
Re: What I Was Given At A Church Service In The UK (Photos) by saintmm(m): 11:56pm On Dec 25, 2025
In as much as I'm not holding brief for churches in Nigeria, it is a product of our society where asking for accountability is strange and is seen as witch-hunt, building structures that will mould principles and discipline in people is seen as outdated, being patient to learn the process that will birth the result instead of running after results is seen as taboo and sticking your neck out to ensure right thing is done rightly is taken as oversabi or e wan show say na him righteous pass. So, we crucify our messiah's and enthrone our pharaohs.

Also, greater percentage of those criticizing the church are not part of it that's why some of their positions get glaring holes.
Also, I've observed many people benefitting from the benevolence of some churches don't come out to say it, it's only those that observed inadequacy from afar that loud it, meanwhile, the rile of genuine giving on Christianity is that what your right hand is giving your left hand must not know, i.e it's not for show or mockery but genuine love so hardly will any good pastor come out and be listing those he had helped.
There are so many doing lots of charity that you will never believe.

As per as churches, I believe every church has a welfare system, if you are really part of it you will know how to access it. And if you find yourself on one that doesn't, simply gently introduce and give them time to structure it out.

I'm trying to understand how a church will not have any system of encouragement and welfare for members

..all those white foreigners, white people that go into gay, lesbianism, gay marriage, lesbianism marriage, transgender, same sex marriage are demonic manipulated or demonic controlled to go into such strange things...it's not ordinary ..they need deliverance to get out of those things I mentioned above before they can realize that what they were doing is wrong and that they were manipulated to do those strange unusual things

My church went to a government hospital with toiletries to share the love of Jesus Christ this Christmas.

The adults and children who came for Christmas service received snacks, cookies, and drinks.

Some young people ate cooked food.

Nobody paid for any of these. The monies utilised came from the church's account, and voluntary contributions by some of us in the church.

The European nations are more organised and with a mindset that supports the development of people's mind. People bequeath their wealth to many causes and also support these causes.

There are many organisations like that in different fields of life.

For example, the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) spends millions of dollars to ensure that children come to the knowledge of God all over the world. For example, today, a Christmas party was organised for children around my community and this happened as well as all over the world.

My church spends millions to support members to attend programmes and cater for their accommodation, transportation and feeding free of charge. How did they get the money? From voluntary contributions and faithful payment of tithes and offerings.

Every system has checks and balances as well as unscrupulous persons who try to breach it whether pastors or bankers or lecturers or business people or civil servants.
