This is the very firdt time am going to church in my life and i received such gifts.

Our Nigerian Christian community don't practicalise love
By January they will call for first fruit... That's all ur salaries.
Remember this December they called for thanksgiving where members will bring or empty their purse.
Then we talk about tithe and offering
And unending seed sowing.

So i was excited to share to show love still exists in Christian communities.
White ppl are morally upright. Nigerian/Black pastors and their churches are morally bankrupt and dubious.

Religious centers are recognized as charity by law. All funds expenditure are accounted and submitted to government.

Now y'all understand why many Nigerian pastors have cases and ran from UK grin
Nigerian pastors can't cope with such system. They are morally bankrupt

The mindset of going to church just to receive material things ("blessings") is not the only essence of church.
Christianity is an act of giving.
*You give your life to Jesus Christ
*You give up your sins and old ways
*You give your time, money and energy for the propagation of the gospel Christ.
*You must be ready if need be to give your life at the course of doing the work of God.

It is clear you attended that church because of this and after being informed they do this every Christmas by your fellow Nigerians there. Waiting to see if you continue attending the church in the new year. These things are meant for the members who have nothing to the barest but you working and having excess going to sweep everything is just too bad. This is what Kemi and Farage are all campaigning about, beware sha.

I guess they do more giving than asking for tithes.
When they ask, they put a detailed report of how it was spent in the bulletin

Honestly, it feels like most people dragging Nigerian churches haven't actually experienced the good ones. I have to give credit where it's due—back when I was a regular at RCCG, they were consistent with sharing hamper with food items, and Christ Embassy does the same. Many churches even distributed bags of rice and other food items this Christmas. Just because your local branch didn’t show up for you doesn't mean others aren't doing the work.
Most Nigerian/African churches in this same UK do this too. Alot even operate foodbanks and I'm sure OP has been a recipient. So I just dont know why the OP is doing this

Loool....liar.....please u don't have to paint Nigerian/African churches black. We know some have their excesses and same applies everywhere. I put it to you that if indeed you have been attending a Nigerian/African church in the UK and claim u've never seen this kind of hospitality, ure lying.....

Despite all their seeming kindness why are their own people deserting churches like a plague?

You people hate the truth.

When Jesus walked the earth he shared food and performed great miracles even his disciples who also used his name to perform miracles later left him and never looked back! John 6:66

So instead of angrily throwing tantrums why not ask questions to know what being Christians entails?😟

you reserve no right to tell him off the thread, it a public and open forum for all, if you don't want opposite opinion you are the one that should have stayed off.

my question is, what is the population of that church.

with you asking people to stay off it's obvious you are targeting the Nigerian churches.

you are contradicting yourself with the bolded there. first time of attending a church "in your life", yet you are dissecting a church inside out?

beside you don't know the church like you claim. you only judge the church based on hearsay, the general judgemental opinion of those that are positioned to bring down the church. I'm not saying all churches are good but backlash against Christianity for no reason is out of it.

I'm not against what ever the charity out there, good thing to do and I love it. as a people (Nigerians) are too entitled, even when can afford it, we still want it for free even at the expense of those that really needs it.

they won't rather they will whimp, they don't pay tithe, those paying aren't complaining, even the one individual that can't explain what church is would scream the loudest.

you wey nobi MUGU, as soon as you carry headache cause of some MU-MU, your MUGU na him worse pass. you said west fine the law in Nigeria does not register church as charity but religious organizations only that dey enjoy tax exemption like the NGOs. not until recently the west in particular UK don't scrutinise church account.

the case Matthew Ashimolowo wasn't of embezzlement (verify your claim,) his church was investigated and found clean but his success was his problem with UK government. they wanted to kill his investment as such he relocated everything back to Nigeria, mind his source of wealth was back home.

I no drop quote o, na fact o. mind you I nobi pastor, I just believe in the existence of God and a must to serve Him, irrespective of people actions and inactions. the truth is people don't know the church like they claim. if you want us to talk more on this, we might get engaged.
I don taya for people jare, chief. Small thing, they'll start whining. Did any church force them to pay tithe? Are the tithe payers complaining?

So he shouldn't expose you guys abi.....wuna never see anything.....all those hiding under God's name to rip the gullible must be exposed.... it'll then be left for the gullible to keep on following or apply sense.
Leave the tithe payers alone. Are they complaining to you? Why are you pained over how someone else spends his money?

You can use your money to pay for a Beyonce concert and nobody will bat an eyelid, but once Christian giving is mentioned, everybody becomes a philosopher.

Rest, bro.

Biko read to understand. I didn't say its wrong to say what he got. He can do it without castigating the Nigerian/African churches which I'm very sure he has benefitted from.

This is the first time you're going to church in your life and in the main post you said you decided not to go to your Nigerian church this time, there are a lot of contradictions in your post. These just shows that you're just a clout chaser, making up stories to disparage the church of God. I can tell you for a fact that in Nigeria, no organisation does more charity than the church, you can go and verify

Nearly all the RCCG churches I have attended in Lagos Nigeria give food stuff to members on the Sunday prior to Christmas. I don't know which churches you people are always talking about online.

You're right. I attend an Anglican Church here in Nigeria. We give out food items regularly. This Christmas, we gave out food packs as usual. Members also give out clothes, pay hospital bills of indigent people, operate a free clinic, visit the prison and help the prisoners in relevant ways plus care for stranded kids and the elderly.
