Anna Liedtke, a 25-year-old German journalist and activist with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, has publicly revealed that she experienced sexual assault while held by 'Israeli' forces.

Liedtke, who was aboard the vessel Conscience attempting to break the naval blockade of Gaza, said she was raped during a transfer between 'Israeli' prisons.


The journalist described her detention as lasting five days following the interception of the ship. She stated that the assault occurred while being transferred from Ktzi’ot to Givon prison during routine strip searches.

Liedtke emphasized that she is speaking out not only for herself but also to highlight the daily abuses faced by Palestinian prisoners in 'Israeli' detention. "Palestinians in the Zionists’ eyes are not viewed as human," she said. "It’s as cruel as this sounds, so I’m sharing it publicly to show the world what’s happening inside those prisons."

She added that justice for her experience goes beyond punishing the perpetrators. "Justice would mean an end of Zionism, the occupation, genocide, and these prison systems. Justice, in the end, means the liberation of Palestine," Liedtke said.

The journalist called for solidarity and continued activism. "The most important thing is that your struggle continues. Whenever we experience this kind of violence, the best and most revolutionary thing we can do is not be silent."

Rights groups say Liedtke’s account contributes to growing concerns over sexual abuse and mistreatment in 'Israeli' detention facilities. Her testimony is part of wider calls for international attention to the treatment of Palestinian prisoners and the ongoing blockade of Gaza.
