Spiritmask:You didn't read the news very well. What is currently obtainable is the receiver that pays the EMTL of N50. The government is now saying the Sender should pay the EMTL of N50 when the transfer is From N10k and above. The receiver will no longer pay the N50 levy. |

Please let's get it clear... Is it a new charge or a reversal of who is paying the charge ![]() Before it was the recieve that pays the money... Now it's the sender that pays the charge so how is it a new transfer charge? |

This situation perfectly captures that "everyday na billing" feeling it seems like there's always a new fee or charge nibbling away at your money. folake4u: |

Spiritmask:You made a mistake while trying to explain. Current way: Beneficiary pays N50 on inflows from N10k and above. New way (January 1st): Senders pays the N50 alongside other bank charges, if any. The beneficiary will get the full N10k or above. Zero charges to the receiver. |

The levy is not new. Does someone who has N10k to transfer suddenly unable to afford N50? That N50 is now what will strain your finances in January? |
