Danzuba:Exactly! Imagine having pretentious terrorists as forest guards in forest locations down south. Hmmm! We need to empower local vigilantes and work on having State Police soonest. |

If properly trained, equipped, and coordinated with existing security agencies, this initiative could significantly improve intelligence gathering and territorial control. |

I see them as 7000 Nigerians on bandit death row. What exactly will this guy's do that the army couldn't do even with the shoot at sight order they were given .What caliber of weapon would they get that the army didn't get .What level of motivation would they get that the army couldn't get .They chose to go die for nothing. As long as the control still lies at the centre, I don't expect much from them. Why forest guard instead of state police. I spit on APC as a party and as a people |

Danzuba: delpee:Trust has been lost. This is deep reason behind these posts, and no one should blame them. Well, the government cannot operate with your ideology, but your point is valid. Which should we take more serious? If you ask me too, I side with you. However, progressing forward is slow like this. So, it is showing day by day that the amalgamation of Nigeria is coming to an end. When trust is lost, nothing will function. We don't trust ourselves from the beginning. And the real truth is that there was no trust. Never join force with people of opposite religion. Different tribes, cultures, backgrounds can come together, but not different religion. And the worst is joining force with Islam. They should be left in their world alone. Nigeria should start getting ready to split. And I congratulate Igbos and SS in advance because they don't have many moslims among them. They can easily stop everything Islam if they want once they are not in Nigeria. But Yoruba will have to continue managing the situation. Also, Southern Kaduna and other non moslims in the north will have to ask for integration into a Christian community because they must quit their homeland; else, they will be the scape goats. |

Nuhu Ribadu should just resign. He is a complete failure and has become a deeply divisive figure. The numerous videos circulating of him in the company of radical Islamic clerics raise serious concerns about his neutrality and patriotism . A National Security Adviser should never be associated with anything that fuels division or extremism. Nigeria has far more qualified former military men and women who understand national security at a strategic level. The country deserves better than an ex-police officer. |

Oluwabash:Any forest guards not from the community is a TERRORIST. How can you take someone from kano to become a forest guard in Imo state. Nigerians, wake up!!!! |

If FG is ready to fight TERRORIST, now we have Christopher as Defense minister, they should make IHEJIRIKA NSA. Then i will take them serious |

crestedaguiyi:Oga, it won't take our military three months to wipe out these criminals but there are lot of saboteurs even within our generals and political leaders for their selfishness. State Governors will control state police as they control state inec. These forest Guard looks more optional if Boko Haram and Bandits are not recruited. GOD bless NIGERIA |

Repeating the same problem thinking we are producing a solution. * Soon, the FG may appoint a state commandant for each state who probably do not know much about the state. * Soon, the state commandant will have to wait for instruction before taking an action in their state when the need arises. * Soon, the recruitment process will be an avenue to settle party urchins. And once again, wash and rinse. |

No amount of security outfit they set up can stop these killings. What is needed is to eliminate all the identified terrorist leaders and sponsors. Terrorism will die naturally. |

/ Considering the expose' in Edo State recently, I wish the communities well. Did anyone hear any advertisement for recruitment in any of the National Dailies? Who are the 7000 members of the "Forest Guard"? I laugh in Spanish. It is well. / |

BreconHills:So tell me what the case is.....Very soon if terrorist are caught they will be tagged FOREST GUARDS..... Just as the TERRORIST that were recently caught were tagged vigilantes. A vigilante in a state that is not his state of ORIGIN..... Are we really this dumb |
| Re: NSA Ribadu Unveils 7,000 Forest Guards, Set For Immediate Deployment by unclenna(m): 5:58am On Dec 28, 2025 |
InvertedHammer:Now we are reasoning. Forest guards should come from the locals not a foreigner from Kano coming to Mbaise in Imo state as a Forest guard |

All these are duplications of security agencies! The national assembly should implement state policing and ensure proper oversight functions to curb abuse from political office holders! State policing is not a silver bullet that can instantly neutralize insecurity but this will ensure the root causes of insecurity will be minimized! |

Any southern leadership or state that accepts this are fools. these terrorists are never short of ideas, it's only those docile yes sir, yes sir leaders from the south that lack ideas on how to fight for and protect the interest of those they claim to represent. Ribadu is arming unknown persons who may be majorly foreigners/terrorists with AK 47, and is about to spread them across Nigeria and southern leaders are cluelessly quite. Opportunity to free themselves from the grip of those who want to subject them to 2nd class citizens is staring them in the face, they don't see the need to grab it, as usual they are cowardly clueless and docile. |

Oluwabash:All forest guards must be from those local communities anything short of that is unacceptable by me. Simple the case of groso a contractor who isn't a native of a place and using the vehicle meant to secure people of those places in Edo State . |

Danzuba:They are all indigenous people of their states and you can be sure their states did the selection. Let the fed recruit and pay them because leaving their welfare in the hands of those states they come from could be counterproductive because most state governors pay pittance to their employees. I just hope the Fed is going to pay them well because... These ones are on a suicide mission. |

![]() God punish anyone who would recruit a criminal elsewhere and deploy them into my community. Forest gards should be the indigenous people safeguarding their respective communities. A case of deploying people elsewhere is another pattern of circulating bandits across Nigeria. I swear that won't happen in my community |
