📖 Genesis 39: 7_20

Just like Joseph, everyone of us will definitely face sexual temptations; the question is not 'if' we will face them, but 'when' we face them.

The urge to have sex is one of the strongest drives in humans_however it must be noted that the desire for sex is healthy because God Himself gave us sexual impulses for this major reason:

📖 And God blessed them (Adam and Eve), and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth...”
— Genesis 1:28

In other words what keeps the human race in existence is sex. Without it, the human race would have long gone into extinction.

God gave man and woman the desire for sex to reproduce and fill the earth.

This is the major purpose of God for sex closely followed by this second purpose:

📖 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
— Genesis 2:24

God gave us the desire for sex to cleave to each other in marriage (emotionally, spiritually and physically) as one flesh.

So both reproduction and cleaving as one flesh are God's purposes behind sex which can only be fulfilled in marriage.

Therefore any kind of sex outside marriage, destroys God's divine purpose behind it.

However, because all humans are wired for sex by God, we face the following sexual temptations daily:

👉Looking lustfully at the opposite sex

👉Watching/reading pornography

👉Masturbation

👉Fornication

👉Adultery

👉Homosexuality


The truth is that if Joseph had slept with his master's wife, he would have lost his glorious destiny!

A lot, and I mean a lot of people over the thousands of years, haven't been able to fulfill God's great destiny for their lives because of the sexual sins listed above.


📖 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Like Joseph, the best way to handle sexual temptations is to fear God, not casually but wholeheartedly.

Why? Our God is a consuming fire 🔥. (Hebrews 12:29)

I do it to my satisfaction and ask God for forgiveness later.

If Joseph is the example, then I don't think everyone will face such temptation nor fall for it. Joseph wasn't tempted by a single young beautiful woman, but his boss's wife. He already saw his father's reaction to Reuben sleeping with his concubine.

The question is was there a man "tempted" or approached by a young single fine woman and he said no? Abraham, nope not him, Boaz, nope he went and married her, Judah, nope, Jacob well we know he didn't say no three times.


When Jesus said don't look at a woman lustfully he meant don't look at another man's wife, because in Hebrew the term for woman is the same for wife. Imagine if Jesus was saying don't desire any girl, is it men men should now desire?

Without Sexual temptation, there will be no sexual intercourse or marriage. Without both, we would not be able to fulfill God's plans. Multiply and fill the world. As I always say, God would not have given us genitals if he did not want us to use it for everything it can be used for.

It’s one thing to preach/teach abstinence and it’s another to alter biblical verses to fit your narrative.

It was never on record that Joseph was chaste. What prevented him from sleeping with potiphar’s wife was not a resolve to chastity but rather loyalty to his master.

Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. 6 So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.

Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, 7 and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!”

8 But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”

With that said, avoid fornication as you’re graced to handle, may God help us all.

You can confess it, although to someone you trust who can pray for you not judge you or gossip.

You can also ask God every time you are face with temptation to give you strength.

Then you can also try to understand the implications of sexual sins. This is how I understand sexual sins, it like a bottomless pit, you can never be satisfied, it will try to take control of everything you do and it will try to take all your time and energy. That time you could have used to praise, pray or read a bible or to talk to someone or learn something, you would be chasing after lust.



Prayer is a good weapon, keep praying, keep praying.

2 Timothy 2:22 reinforces the idea of running away from temptations including sexual temptations: "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace..."

By not looking at girls with short skirts and by not desiring to look at it. Most content creators has mastered the art of continually feeding us with clips of girls on short skirts. I was on Instagram the other day, someone said, if you create contents around what feeds the lust of men, you will garner so much views and more views means more money for content creators, so na you go use your head. These people knows what they are doing. Even the girl that is wearing short skirt, she knows what she's doing, don't allow anyone deceive you by saying, God sees the heart, what God saw was the state of the heart before you wore the cloth, you want to attract men, you want your back side to be seen, you want men to see your cleavages

The Bible said we should not conform to this world, but be transformed by the word and the renewing of the mind.

Sexual temptations is spiritual, you can afford seeing it in real life, the devil will bring it to your dream. Just stay prayerful

Just flee from the " appearances" of evil. Temptations are evil and not invisible. Flee!

Jesus said, if your eyes offend you, pluck it out, Jesus also said, if you look at a woman with lust in your heart.

The thing is, just look at women the way you look at me, don't look twice or turn around and look the second time. Men don't look at their fellow men twice, don't look at a woman twice, if your eyes sees her, don't desire to look at her again, discipline.

Paul said I put my body under and if you are having sexual temptations, it's just a means of saying you are ripe for marriage, have your own wife and marry

This issue has brought many pastors down. Like I used to advise my fellow pastors that If you are a devoted Christian and you like yansh or breast, please marry a woman that has big yansh or breast so you won't be tempted when you see one. May God help his anointed men especially all these young pastors.
