Akinpedia:
Haba, Oga! With all due respect, this is exactly the kind of 'spiritual illiteracy' I was talking about. smiley cheesy

The 'Virgin' Claim: Are you saying that every woman who has ever given birth to a child with a congenital heart defect, Sickle Cell (SS), or Down Syndrome was 'promiscuous'? This is a heavy insult to millions of virtuous, hardworking Nigerian mothers who are battling medical challenges they didn't ask for.

Genetics vs. Spirituality: Sickle Cell isn't caused by 'sin'; it’s caused by AS meeting AS, or AC meeting SC, or AS meeting SC, or AC meeting AS. If we keep telling mothers that an unhealthy child is a 'mark of wrongdoing,' we are pushing them into the hands of fake prophets who will extort them while the child’s condition worsens.

The 'Exception' Argument: It’s not an exception. Over 150,000 babies are born with Sickle Cell in Nigeria every year. Is that an exception or a national health crisis that requires Doctors, not just 'deliverance'?

This mindset is why we are where we are. We would rather blame a mother’s 'conduct' than admit our healthcare and genetic education have failed.

You know them. Aids, syphilis, gono, staph, cervical cancer, barrenness, poverty, always sick syndrome, etc.

Virgins don't have these things.

All these are things we have seen and we all say in our houses, so what is the big deal after all you people don't mind having them?
Actually virgins can have all these ailments you listed except gonorrhea and cervical cancer. Also staph itself is not a disease. And I don't know what you mean by 'always sick sundrome'? Maybe you need to educate me about it

How can a virgin give birth?
Even if a virgin gives birth which chromosomes will the baby have if not the mother's. Basically making Jesus a clone of Mary. LoLz.

Now you are trying to use an exception to argue a general fact.

Even at that is it the 2yr old who will run up and down looking for pastors?
No.
It is the mama who does it of which we are all wondering why. And that is where you see she knows something we don't know especially as it is a serious mark of wrongdoing for a mother to birth an unhealthy child. And go and check you would never see a virgin birth an unhealthy child.

See how you started talking about people's personal health problem only to bend it into 'progressing as a nation".

The 2 are incompatible.

As to why they listen to pastors over professionals, it is because they know that their ailments is as a result of their sin full conduct and behaviour
Lol. You are sending your own people to death over religious ideas that even the bringers have progressed beyond. Have some shame. Why can a pastor not give help where his capacity is and allow a medical professional to do the same? What does a pastor with little to no medical knowledge know about diagnosing advanced illnesses? It's a shame what religion has done to our society, instead of celebrating and seeking for advances in medicine, we celebrate the ill-advice of pastors. Why can a humble and considerate pastor not bring himself to say he does not know and he's church member should meet a medical professional, does the 10 commandments not teach "Thou shall not bear false witness"?

In your God hatism you obviously do not real eyes that you are looking at from the wrong end.

The question is on why people who need professional help go to pastor instead of the professional?

And my own answer is that they goers know that their problem is not medical and all. Especially as we all know that if they have a little headache they have already gone medical. So for them to abandon medicines to go and see pastor babalawo already tells you that they know it is not medical. That is all I said.

Nowhere did I say that the pastor would solve their problems which is where you are attacking coming from. So you have miss fired. So you see how atheism makes you make silly and unnecessary errors?

Do you see your arrogance? I come at you for your inconsiderate response on your people and you claim it is "hatism" against God.

Then you assume I am an atheist as if for anyone to attack your posts here they must be an atheist. I do believe in God. However, I do not believe in your arguments.

It is very silly to think that most of these people who are showing clear signs of illnesses and going to pastors are actually not medically sick. Some are even given a clear diagnosis of their condition but they leave the assigned treatment in order to seek the help of a pastor or native doctor only to end up dying in the process. How can you then say they know their problem is not medical?

The funny thing is that those pastors seek quality healthcare when sick. I know one popular Port Harcourt pastor(he's yoruba) who was hypertensive, diabetic with dyslipidemia. This man comes to our clinic before he goes for his shouting match on Sundays to 'heal the sick'. His folder is very thick. He's dead now

And how do they know the headache isn't medical? So if a doctor cannot manage your headache, you automatically assume it's beyond medicine? Ever heard of tiers in healthcare? The many cases that people assume are beyond medical help are cases that have been referred. For example in the case of the headache you talked about the GP may have referred to a neurologist, and the daffftt patient assumed it's beyond medicine

There's a certain indifference and disdain they have towards science, like science is wrong and whatever the bible or pastor says is right. One Christian here Ogascomax or something like that told me scientists hate Christianity

Yet you are complaining about people who know to go to hospital and go to hospitals over a "I'm feeling somehow" and yet these same people have rather chosen to see pastors and babalawos instead of doctors and co, and yet you refuse to understand that they know that the problem is not medical.
