ā”In late July 2025, President Trump reversed course and ordered the Treasury Department to restore Chevronās license under revised terms. The decision came as Maduro freed 10 American prisoners in exchange for more than 250 Venezuelans the Trump administration had sent to CECOT, El Salvadorās high-security prison. Trump was also influenced by lobbying from Chevronās chief executive, Mike Wirth, who argued the companyās presence in Venezuela served as a strategic bulwark against Chinese influence ā a case that ultimately outweighed pressure from Republican hard-liners. |

Ricchmoen:You are asking a dumb question. Are you really asking the best military in the world the reason for their choice of weapon in an operation? Their mission is to get the job done, not answer foolish questions from you or satisfy your curiosity. What would you know about why and when to use a particular weapon? |

bryght4u:What landed on the hotel in Offa wasn't debris. It was a literal tomahawk missile. The warhead was found along with engine parts. The other bungalow in Offa was what was hit by debris, most likely the empty solid fuel tank of the same or a different missile. Two probable causes are maliciousness or missile error. The tomahawk missiles were fired from a ship (or ships) in the Atlantic ocean. So it flew over several states, including Kwara on its way to Sokoto. A tomahawk has over 2000 km range. Lagos to Sokoto is around 750 km by air on a straight line, aka as the crow flies. So the Atlantic ocean (Gulf of Guinea) to Sokoto is well within the range of a tomahawk. As for the booster, the tomahawk uses solid fuel at launch before switching to liquid fuel midflight. After this switch, it jettisons the now empty (and useless) solid fuel booster tank to reduce weight, save fuel, and improve the aerodynamics and weight balance of the missile. If we go with the "missile error" suggestion, I am thinking the missile may have been unable to switch to liquid fuel after using up its solid fuel, so it crashed. Another likely suggestion is that the missile had some other malfunction or strayed off course and somehow crashed in the process. Even if we excuse the missile landing on the hotel as an error, do we also excuse the booster landing on a house as an error? The US knows very well the tank will land somewhere and can very likely control what time it is jettisoned. So why releasing it over a town? Kwara and neighboring states have more than enough forests where missile parts can fall. If this was deliberate, then the US may have been trying to pass a message to some people in Kwara. The message is addressed "to whom it may concern," and the Chinese it concerns know themselves. Foolishboy419 correctly predicted US action in Kwara several months ago long before talks of this bombing even came up and this happening makes it very plausible. Till now, even the Nigerian and US governments struggle to tell us what the US destroyed. Even whether they worked together to actualize the bombing is a mystery. Some of the US supporters are even saying the bombing is more of symbolic than substance. If missiles are already landing on civilian houses during "symbolic bombings" then God knows what will happen when the non-symbolic bombings begin. It is even a surprise that Sokoto and the northwest in general was targeted. While drumming support for the bombing, it was Benue they put in the spotlight. US house of rep members visited Benue and pastors from Benue were sent to the US to give testimonies on the Christian genocide said to be happening in Benue. But once the bombings started, it was Sokoto and Kwara they fired at instead of the terrorists killing people in Benue. One of the two areas they fired at in Sokoto isn't even suffering from terror attacks. And the buildings destroyed in Kwara were clearly civilian infrastructure. Now, a topic on frontpage even mentions that terrorists have started moving into Benue following the bombings. As I and many others said back then, any bombing must be done in coordination with the Nigerian government. At least, if our government is involved, they will tell the Americans to stop dropping missiles and boosters on civilians. But as usual, their supporters said they support the bombings even if the Nigerian government was not carried along. Some even openly said the Nigerian government should not be carried along. Now that the bombings has begun, they are mute about a bomb and debris landing on a civilian hotel and house in Kwara while quickly labeling anyone who questions or scrutinizes it a terrorist or a terrorist sympathizer. The icing on the cake will be when a bomb lands on their family house. We will see whether they will also refer to themselves as terrorists by then. As I said back then, everybody will collect last last. The Americans care about no one. Everyone is expendable to them. We are lucky the warhead that landed on the hotel in Offa didn't go off but we will not always be lucky. "Collateral damage" will be our favorite word in the coming months. As the tomahawks are landing in the north, the expended solid fuel tanks and faulty missiles will land here in the south, that is if the US is not deliberately dropping them on the south anyway. As for the Americans, the truth about their intent will finally reveal itself over the next few weeks and months. |

This is a photo of a tomahawk. The cylinder at the back (the white thing with the blue line) is the solid fuel booster.

LordAdam16:One of them has even started to downplay the missile parts that were recovered. I've seen engine parts and warheads. That would have been great for our research, especially the engines. I will be surprised if the parts are still in the country. Our NVBs are probably pissed off that they weren't the ones that found it. That would've been free visa. |

bryght4u:when iran fired missiles at israel parts (called stage) of the missiles fell in countries on the missile's path that's the nature of stand-off surface to surface missiles high altitude strike drones like the Predator and Wing Loong are different they are quiet, in the night sky they're invisible, and they carry precision weapons but they have a limit on the warhead they can carry as such they're ideal for assassinations for the kind of strategic strikes that the pentagon planned you'd need fighter jets or cruise missiles in the ukraine war, both sides also use one-way suicide drones but they're noisy and relatively slow -Lord |

U shoodboi2:Hot staging is automatic once the fuel is spent the system automatically jettison the fuel tank but the warhead not hitting their target could be of two things. It is either a malfunction or they hit the kill switch deliberately hence they didn't explode on impact. I have seen a lot of people argue that the bombing was carried out without the knowledge of the Nigeria even when you point them to the AFRICON page saying it is in coordination with the Nigeria government. As for those who thinks trumps actions is to protect Christians are big time fools, Nigerias closeness with China gets the US government uncomfortable hence all these noise. Just watch very soon will see more cooperation between the coming year, beside we have to use our head because they have the means to distabilize us not directly. They can easily topple a government especially in countries like Africa were you have a lot of people who are so unpatriotic, just a little money here and there you get your self a revolution, arm bandit or military take over. Read the way shekau operated for many years you will understand that guy was operating on a local for a guy that did not attend school. |
