What has your own state government in the East done about thesame thing you are complaining about? Have you ever complained to your state governors about the numerous videos we see online about masquerades assaulting people? Why care more about people that aren't your tribe but you don't care about what they are doing to your own people? You people are really strange humans
Any dude on Nairaland that's against you people's opinions is now from the east.

This is like saying in Nigeria Boko Haram is everywhere. See below, what a foreigner has to say about Lagos on Youtube
^^^
grin

There are also foreigners with very uncomplimentary things to say about the same Lagos. The equation is now balanced.

Call a spade a spade. The violence during this festival simply reveals the truth about the real Lagos.

Cultural events of this nature are supposed to highlight all that is good, noble etc. They are not for celebrating pointless, mindless violence - violence which some people on here are bending over backwards to explain or justify. undecided

There is nothing positive about this garbage.

This is how we know those who are not Lagosians and likely bigoted haters of Tinubu/Yorubas.

Real Lagosians who love the State, be they Yoruba or Igbos, will tell you Tinubu transformed Lagos into one of the safest States in Nigeria literally overnight.

Tinubu took over as governor of Lagos when armed robbers would write neighborhood, with impunity, to notify residents of their operation date in their hood and how they need compliance to avert killings and deaths.

Yet the person who changed all that you are here insulting. Not hard to guess your ethnic origin.
Oga Tinubu did nothing in Lagos state... Stop lying here. Thank God for baba Fash

Lol. Since Tinubu defeated your messiah Obi in 2023, you lot have all become obsessed with negatively revising PBAT's verified leadership history and achievements all Lagosians can testify to.

Please who created and initially funded Lagos RRS responsible for the vastly improved security Lagos experienced after 1999?

Answer with a name only , so we continue from there, because I don't like back and forth with people who are dishonestly evasive and cannot do facts and verified reality.

The 'foreigner' who wrote this piece is obviously emotionally invested in Lagos - and that's ok. (Even if he mysteriously spells Lagos with an 'e' cheesy).

But the naked truth is that Lagos consistently ranks abysmally low on almost every liveability index you can think of. Hundreds of thousands of residents live daily lives of real misery. That simply cannot be denied.

So while Lagos may have a peculiar 'energy' (and all the other adjectives that supporters and fans describe the city with), it falls far short on the stuff that really matters - schools, roads, healthcare, public services etc. For example, every single year, the city grinds to a halt once the wet/rainy season starts. undecided But supporters claim that the city has a vibe or zest - so perennial flooding doesn't matter. undecided

Well, all that 'energy' or zest or vibe doesn't count when the basics of modern city life are still largely absent.

Lol. I knew you'd take the bait because you think all are ignorant like you. Now, dispute what is revealed below as "invisible".

Predictably also, showing your patent dishonesty, you avoided the question of naming the leader who created RRS in Lagos.

You can, if possible , attempt to deny what the factual revelation below, regarding improved security in Lagos, states about RRS Tinubu created.

You guys are really terrible. You hate totally and without reservation, fairness to others or objectivity.

but if Muslims block road or Christians block road to observe their 10 to 20 mins prayer in a day, y'all gonna be the first to bash them abi?
First off, I don't bash anyone that blocks anywhere. I am respectful of all religions.

You are a perfect Obidient example of what I meant, they will flog you and you won't do jack about it. No one will tell you before you run and go home to lick your wounds.

You see as a people we need to do better. helinues raised a point, but somehow you twisted it, made it look as if you don't want to offend him/her and then turned it to a class of people.

Rid yourself of this type of attitude. Don't be black and also be 'black'.

Heal yourself.

Shalom.
Helinues made a point that I needed clarity on which he did. He and I have had disagreements on a few topics on here, they have been civil in all cases despite the fact that we were on opposite sides of an issue. That is OK, I respect and admire his conviction.

I would like Obidients to be severally flogged due to their repeated unsavoury behaviour on social media, my choice. Same as it was Obidients choice to abuse and insult others that don't think Peter Obi is a messiah, chikena.

Terrible, terrible error.

'Billionaire artists and entrepreneurs'? I don't know of any billionaire artists. And billionaires are not necessarily invested in the greater good. In fact, there's a lot to suggest that they often work against the greater good.

'Billionaires' residing in Lagos doesn't translate to much in the grand scheme of things. And Lagos does screech to a halt once the rains start. You can tag or bookmark this thread and come back to it in the next 5 months.

We call extremely rich people "billionaires" in Nigeria. All the real (dollar) billionaires in Nigeria have residences in Lagos, and for most that's their primary residence.
I live in Lagos, you don't. Lagos never comes close to "grinds to a halt"

The word 'billionaire' doesn't have a different meaning in Nigeria. You are one or you are not. A billion is a real number.
