But make Doris no back down. This apology is evidence that he should pay since he got her arrested

Rep Riley Moore secures release of Sunday Jackson, who has been on death row and in prison for over a decade.

They forced the hands of Tinubu to release the man accused of killing a Fulani herdman while defending himself from his attack.

The useless government has bowed again to good reasoning
It was Adamawa State Government that pardoned Sunday Jackson, the death sentence was in Adamawa also.

It has nothing to do with Tinubu

That was what I thought too at first.

But when u think about it again, the Adamawa state governor could've granted him pardon long before now ; particularly when there was much uproar about the appeal at supreme court failing. That didn't happen and we even had dem Miyetti Allah members hailing the supreme court judgement sef.

It appears as though when the US authorities mounted pressure and demanded for his release as a condition for their cooperation ; Tinubu reached out to the Adamawa state governor to use his prerogative of mercy and grant him pardon. That way everything is done by the books and it looks as if the state decided to pardon him as an act of benevolence.

😂😂😂

A C-List Nollywood actress bankrolling a typical Nigerian G.O. Even pastors wey no get clout and money reach him self will comfortably finance the lifestyle of the so-called actress.

For people asking why the US military struck Sokoto and not Borno state, this AriseTV report does justice to that

Apparently Lakurawa terrorists have overran some communities in Sokoto and the places hut by the US missiles are their camps

Yeah, I'm just reading now that it was the district head and Miyetti Allah guys that invited the Lakurawa terrorists from the Sahel to come help them face the Bandits/Cattle rustlers disturbing them.

Only for the Lakurawa terrorists to be more trouble than the bandits they came to displace.

A lot dey really go on for ghat side o. They create complex issues for other federafing units of this country and expect federal government to use our common resources to help them combat the problem they created.

And then there's the yeye Sheikh Gumi screaming for government to settle the terrorists as if the law abiding citizens owe them tribute for us to be able to live in peace 🤦‍♂️

This makes more sense. I knew something was missing in the initial report. US would not have bombed the bandits/cattle rustlers first while leaving the proper anti-state terrorists.

Some of these Northern leaders are incredibly myopic and are contributing to the demise of the country.

Omo, so terrorists wan use pincer movement penetrate Nigeria from NE and NW and government dey sit on their hands.

Wahala dey.

Finitri is a PDP Governor, why will a PDP Governor want to do any favour for APC President

The main ish is that most Nigerians in many cases don't know who to appropriate blames or whatever to and just point to the President. From the beginning of the case to the end of it, it was Adamawa State Government vs Sunday Jackson, it was not at any time a FG matter

PG is just doing conspiracy theories that has zero backing on facts. Finitri decided to pardon Jackson on Christmas day as a sign of goodwill.

It has little to no hearing on the Sokoto strike that happened that same day.

These ones imported bandits to fight bandits. grin

Governor was collecting security funds every month and using it to pay bandits to fight bandits instead of actually better equipping the police on those communities.

Nigeria politicians are brain dead

This story is incredibly disturbing because it says alot about the mentality of Northerners. In the end all their issues are self inflicted. They clearly do not see these people as terrorists but as allies. That is why they are paying them.

State police will solve a whole lot of things, Governors are currently hiding under the FG to do fuûck all

If we have State Police, everyone will direct their anger to their respective state governors.

Irrespective of the cons you might be scared off, we just have to do away with this ineffective unproductive central system of policing.

Governors are already bullying and using law enforcement for harassment of opposition and vote fraud, what else can they do?

Doc, a critical issue we really need to address in this fight against terrorism and banditry is our porous border in the North.

Many of these states border countries in the Sahel or are active routes to those countries. We need to secure our borders with heavy military presence until things settle. There is too much infiltration which complicates this fight.

Also, do we have true data of Federal Forest Reserves? At this point, our federal forest reserves need serious cleansing and active monitoring/ surveillance. While recruiting more Forrest guards is great, it needs to be integrated with technology. The Federal government needs to step up with the use of technology in keeping surveillance of large expanses of land/ forest. This thing no be rocket science na!

We are still dealing with this thing like say na small issue.

I don't think Finitri just decided to pardon Jackson out of the blues. It was on record that the US (through Riley) requested for Jackson's freedom as part of conditions for them to have a collaboration with Nigeria to wipe out the terrorists.

It makes sense that the president reached out to the governor to have him(governor) grant Jackson pardon as allowable under the laws of Nigeria.

It not necessarily about party politics

I think it has to do with their mentality and how tbey actually see some of these non-state actors.

Some of them don't see these terrorists for what they are, they prefer to see them as aggrieved citizens who are using their crimes to protest whatever injustice they feel the current political and government system metes out to them.

I mean if they see those murderous terrorists for what they are, they shouldn't be going to import them to fight on their behalf without giving thought to the eventuality of the terrorists turning back to terrorize them once tbey gain ground. Even to the extent of those terrorists collecting taxes, levies and royalties from communities just to allow them have semblance of peace in their own community

based on the article you posted the governors are 101% complicit in everything happening . the village chiefs under them were reaching out to terrorists for assistance. people who see terrorists as business partners and brothers and who have shown that they value cows over kaffirs will have no problem with executing jackson

they likely see them as their fellow Muslims

you now have to wonder how many northern governors are in bed with terrorists for reasons best known to them. and how far does this go. because this means that the FG cannot carry the northern governors or communities along. they are all actively collaborating with enemies of nigeria - who they see as their true partners. while the FG is sending troops to root these terrorists out of Mali - our northerners are paying the same terrorists to come to nigeria

i have said multiple times that at their core, they all want one nation united under sharia - but they think they can somehow eat their cake and have it - a north under sharia while still being part of the federal republic of nigeria and taking monthly allocations

Is it that Fayose is also a Masscomm graduate or what?

Fayose claimed Makinde of Oyo State got N50 billion from FG following the fire wxosion in his state.

Makinde dared Fayose to drop evidence of the state receiving N50billion as claimed by Fayose and below was what he dropped.

From the point 3 on the document, to any discerning mind, the N50 billion listed against Oyo State was clearly requested for but was not disbursed due to paucity of funds in the special accounts where the requests ought to be granted from.

My question is : How did Fayose manage to convince people that the attached is an evidence of N50 billion disbursed to Oyo State government? Is it bias that make people read the document wrong or na poor standard of education in Nigeria?

It is a serious problem and we need to tackle it aggressively but the Northern leadership will fight against any tough measures.

One major stumbling blocks is that most of that Northern border runs right through the middle of Hausaland with the same people on either side of it. Once there is instability on the other side of the border it is easy to transport it across to our side and the political will to address with overwhelming force is not there.

It is a dicey situation and things can spiral out of control if we don’t get our acts together secure that border. It is just so frustrating because ultimately the accelerant of this destabilisation of West Africa was the overthrow of Gaddafi, and the Western powers who lit the fire are now trying to help quench it.

Supreme Court upheld the judgement. What it means is that a precedent has been set. Once you kpai a criminal herder in self defense, na death sentence. The apex court doesn't belong to Adamawa state.
