PG is just doing conspiracy theories that has zero backing on facts. Finitri decided to pardon Jackson on Christmas day as a sign of goodwill.

The state governor can actually grant pardon if the offence is a state offence . I'm sure the guy was either convicted of manslaughter or murder which are state offences . It is within the purview of the state governor to grant him pardon by exercising prerogative of mercy.

I think early this year or last year Gov Adeleke of Osun state pardoned one guy like that who was convicted of stealing chicken or so.

But when u think about it again, the Adamawa state governor could've granted him pardon long before now ; particularly when there was much uproar about the appeal at supreme court failing. That didn't happen and we even had dem Miyetti Allah members hailing the supreme court judgement sef.

It appears as though when the US authorities mounted pressure and demanded for his release as a condition for their cooperation ; Tinubu reached out to the Adamawa state governor to use his prerogative of mercy and grant him pardon. That way everything is done by the books and it looks as if the state decided to pardon him as an act of benevolence.

This doesn't change the fact that what Fayose uploaded as evidence didn't actually check out to be evidence of Seyi collecting N50billion.

He literally provided a document saying Seyi didn't get N50billion because there was no funds in the special account that was supposed to be used for disbursement.

That Seyi got N30billion later is a totally different matter

In the Supreme court judgement sef, it was a 3-1 decision, there was a minority judgement against the death sentence but the majority lead judgement wins.

I actually felt Sunday Jackson case was mismanaged by his lawyer in the State High Court proceedings when the case got to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, they will judge on facts already established at the High Court

As long as the offense and prosecutions are from the state, it is the state that can pardon the offender or sign the death warrant.

The reason Revd King and Evans the Kidnapper are still alive is because the Lagos State governor still hasn't assent to their death warrant even though the Supreme Court has ruled.

I think the last Governor to sign death warrant in Nigeria was Oshiomole in Edo (I stand corrected)

Most Governors will rather just leave the death warrant file on their desks for whoever takes charge after them to take care of just let it rot
