OkpaNsukkaisBae:Yws I know but even after supreme court pronounced judgement, the state governor can actually exercise prerogative of mercy by granting pardon to the convict and that was what happened in this case. What I'm telling Larride is that Tinubu led FG reached out to Finitri to grant the pardon as part of request the US entourage requested for and that was done. I don't think the Adamawa state government just woke up to pardon the Jackson guy without FG being involved to straighten things out with the US government. |

larride:Stop talking nonsense with confidence. Wike too na PDP man if we go by your logic. When the supreme court passed that final judgement, most people here trolled d court decision. Even the APC, LP, PDP FC. But a government who withdrew terrorism charges against miyetti allah wetin u expect.? If the case was started by Adamawa state, Supreme Court should have discharged Sunday Jackson. Killing a criminal/murderous armed herdman in self defense is never a crime anywhere. |

Larride has a point, but Okpa and Blueraydick are right. Fintiri doesn't control the SC. If he truly did sentence Jackson to death, why did the SC uphold it? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 7:46am On Dec 29, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:it actually sounds odd that a state governor is pardoning a person convicted by a federal court. i need the lawyers to explain this - esp as Tinubu was pardoning some other people convicted in what i assume was federal court some weeks back @folake4u |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:15am On Dec 29, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:The state governor can actually grant pardon if the offence is a state offence . I'm sure the guy was either convicted of manslaughter or murder which are state offences . It is within the purview of the state governor to grant him pardon by exercising prerogative of mercy. I think early this year or last year Gov Adeleke of Osun state pardoned one guy like that who was convicted of stealing chicken or so. |

BlueRayDick:https://www.nairaland.com/8589049/bodija-explosion-makinde-got-30bn E be like say they are slowly and surely setting Makinde up and torching his future presidential and Godfather ambitions. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:36am On Dec 29, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:This doesn't change the fact that what Fayose uploaded as evidence didn't actually check out to be evidence of Seyi collecting N50billion. He literally provided a document saying Seyi didn't get N50billion because there was no funds in the special account that was supposed to be used for disbursement. That Seyi got N30billion later is a totally different matter |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 9:50am On Dec 29, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:Seyi media aide confirmed that the FG disbursed 30bn to Oyo The question now is why did Seyi approve 4.5bn to the victims and what happened to the remaining 25.5bn |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 9:56am On Dec 29, 2025 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:I don't know why you are forming in the mouth when everyone is having a civil discussion. Na Adamawa state government charge Sunday Jackson for murder Na Supreme Court upheld the death sentence. Whether it should've or not is another matter entirely. It's the Adamawa state government that will either sign his death sentence for it to be carried out or not. The Adamawa state governor under his prerogative for mercy pardoned him. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:58am On Dec 29, 2025 |
larride:I know what Seyi's aide said . I am addressing people who read the memo and actually think the memo says N50 billion was disbursed. My question is can they read and comprehend at all? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 10:03am On Dec 29, 2025 |
izzou:The FG doesn't control the Supreme Court either And it wasn't Finitri that sentenced Jackson to death, it was the Adamawa State High Court, it was then upheld by the Court of Appeal and then the Supreme Court. In the Supreme court judgement sef, it was a 3-1 decision, there was a minority judgement against the death sentence but the majority lead judgement wins. I actually felt Sunday Jackson case was mismanaged by his lawyer in the State High Court proceedings when the case got to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, they will judge on facts already established at the High Court Every man has the right to defend himself against marauders, self defense is a valid right in the construction |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 10:04am On Dec 29, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:Well if Fayose hadn't released that memo, we won't have known that Seyi actually got 30bn. Our politicians are the same irrespective of the party |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 10:07am On Dec 29, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:As long as the offense and prosecutions are from the state, it is the state that can pardon the offender or sign the death warrant. The reason Revd King and Evans the Kidnapper are still alive is because the Lagos State governor still hasn't assent to their death warrant even though the Supreme Court has ruled. I think the last Governor to sign death warrant in Nigeria was Oshiomole in Edo (I stand corrected) Most Governors will rather just leave the death warrant file on their desks for whoever takes charge after them to take care of just let it rot |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 10:08am On Dec 29, 2025 |
larride:I am not holding brief for Seyi because I'm not familiar with Oyo state politics and will not claim I do. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 10:16am On Dec 29, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:I think it all started with Seyi Makinde last media chat where he tackled Wike and Tinubu. He said Tinubu told him to nominate a minister and he did but Tinubu rejected it Fayose, an ally of Wike and Tinubu now came to their defense that even though Tinubu rejected his minister nominee, that Tinubu has been supporting his government. That's where the 50bn talk came from. Seyi denied ever receiving 50bn from the FG for the fire explosion in Bodija because it was on record that he only approved 4.5bn to the fire victims. Fayose/Lere Olayinka then went ahead to post that document, Seyi media aide in denying they ever got 50bn said it was only 30bn that was released that the remaining 20bn is yet to be disbursed. Na season film ![]() |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 10:38am On Dec 29, 2025 |
larride:If Seyi's aide sef sabi read he could've just pointed it out that the document Fayose posted states that the N50 billion was not disbursed and not that it was disbursed as claimed by Fayose. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OkpaNsukkaisBae(m): 10:49am On Dec 29, 2025 |
larride:Since the Buhari administration, combined with Tinubu tenure. Please can you list how many murderous/killer herdsmen the court gave life/death sentence? From Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, Enugu etc, we dey see hundreds of dead bodies of children, women, farmers? How many killer herdsmen have the police arrested and the court convicted? So far the Apex court of the land upheld that decision, e concern Tinubu. The Americans have the intelligence, facts and figures. Because the message we're sending to the international community is that we have different laws for different people in our country |

These women went to protest at Government house in Kwara state concerning bandits kidnapping their husbands and turning them to widows. Instead make government sympathize with them over their plight, government unleashed political thugs on them to whip the protesting women silly right in front of policemen who didn't do anything to protect the women.
This country get as e be Sha! |

https://www.nairaland.com/8589313/christmas-massacre-man-santa-costume Things like this keep happening in USA, they shouldn't be calling other countries insecure. Living in the US is literally like a death sentence, you can go out and not be assured of going back home just because one weyrey start killing people that didn't offend them. |

BlueRayDick:Chai... These are unarmed protesters mostly women. Why are they flogging them? Wicked abroadians have always said we should leave Tinubu & hold our governors accountable .. Maybe dem wan hold governors, senators & local government chairman accountable But how do political thugs physically attack/assault someone who's old enough to be their grandmother? Police just stand dey look. Master strategist has failed woefully

raumdeuter:That's a question for Seyi to answer. What me I'm saying is the memo Fayose provided as evidence of ₦50billion disbursement was in fact evidence that the ₦50billion wasn't disbursed at that time. That's the interpretation of the English written on that paper. |
