IRead the proclamation it DOES affect immigrant visa issuance. Family and Employment based visas are immigran visas andt are affected.

The proclamation does list 10 exemptions

I've probably spent 5hours today reading and listening to immigration attorneys on this.

The US embassy doesn't have any information on their website as per the new visa ban yet, but I believe it affects both immigrant and nonimmigrant visas.

Nothing , just provide your passport you're here on animmigrant visa

They'll likely send you to another officer. who is basically recording your details with uscis to document that you've arrived in the country.

Reach out via rhe email used to communicate with you and ask if their interview date will be rescheduled
They can consider moving their medical appointment further.

Unless their interview date is moved to before Jan 1st 2026, they need to wait till after the ban is lifted then the consulate can not issue visas from Jan 1 2026.
If you do ho ahead with interview they will not issue the visa but consider you ineligible which can change to issued once the ban is lifted. That might not be till June 2026 or less.

Pls go ahead with the interview, though You’d be likely placed in 221f refusal but with strong evidence you may qualify for a case by case waiver, albeit more AP times. Similar occurrence happened in the previous ban of 2020 & some Nigerians still got their visa. Goodluck!

Still under reviews. Still a long process again

Approved case (f3) currently @NVC since 2021 waiting for PD to become current. 13 year journey so far. Already notified NVC via the public enquiry link.
Pls, how do I go about reinstating this petition by substituting my deceased dad with my older bro as my new petitioner?

So you could use the Humanitarian Reinstatement to apply for a waiver. Note is is a discretionary benefit, so you need to prove this well. I'd suggest contacting a good immigration lawyer who has proof of successful waivers that were approved. Especially since you have already informed nvc.

Your brother would still need to meet the I 864 form conditions to be your sponsor.

You also need death certificate.

By the way are you DQ yet and just waiting for interview?
At least with the ban you have time to get this approved whilst your PD is not current

Waiting for PD to become current for application since last year.
There's been no movement for f3 category since Dec 2024 (July 2012) and my pd is Sep 2012.

Yes you have your Green Card, however it's not an end of itself.. it's still a privilege
Pls stay out of trouble
Don't Drink and Drive
Volunteer in your community - be of good moral character. , this counts towards citizenship.
This current administration has way more scrutiny on immigrants even with your green card.

Lastly, there's always work in the US regardless of your education level. Also opportunities exist to learn at your pace

One more thing, you can live anywhere so if you don't like the city you landed in you can move.
