Many people sit comfortably behind their screens, typing careless criticisms at those working in the trenches. They condemn the authorities from afar, yet refuse to invest their education, skills, or creativity in rebuilding the very communities they claim to care about. Instead, they pour their talents into strengthening other nations while their own estates fall deeper into decay. They forget a simple truth: Lasting change requires participation, not commentary. Progress demands contribution, not convenience. |

Ironfaceman:Oga it is not rocket science, one does not have to be Albert Einstein to understand that a vehicle ran into a stationary truck, not headon but with its right side. Those seated on the right side of the vehicle, ie the right front and the right rear got the full impact and were killed immediately. The driver on the left front and Jonathan on the left rear survived. |

The government bears part of the responsibility due to persistent enforcement and emergency response failures. However, there are also serious questions surrounding the conduct of Anthony Joshua’s driver that must not be ignored. Available reports indicate that the vehicle may have been over-speeding, and this alone warrants a formal arrest and thorough investigation. The driver should be questioned regarding: Possible over-speeding. Vision and fitness to drive. Vehicle maintenance standards. Any potential drug or substance use. The reported tyre burst raises significant concerns about poor vehicle maintenance, which is a known and preventable risk factor in high-speed crashes. Importantly, contrary to some public assumptions, the truck involved was reportedly parked completely off the road. This shifts attention back to driver behaviour, vehicle condition, and systemic enforcement failures rather than roadside obstruction. Beyond these immediate factors, investigators must also remain open to less conventional but documented risks. In some jurisdictions, there have been cases where drivers were allegedly compromised, through coercion, inducement, or criminal collaboration, to deliberately cause crashes targeting high-profile individuals, disguising such acts as “accidents.” While no conclusion should be presumed in this case, the mere possibility underscores the need for a forensic, intelligence-led investigation rather than a superficial traffic report. This incident underscores a broader crisis: reckless driving, poor maintenance culture, weak enforcement, and inadequate investigative rigor collectively turn survivable errors into fatal outcomes. Accountability must be comprehensive—covering individuals, regulators, law-enforcement agencies, and emergency response systems alike. |

There is something that is fundamentally wrong and we are not talking about it. All those trucks parked on both sides of the road along Lagos - Ibadan expressway they are death traps. Why did the government allow such on the highway? Many people have died on that road in similar accidents. We should learn to be proactive and not always reactive to save lives. It could have been AJ, it could have been anybody.. |

Ironfaceman:I would have to disagree with you, cos from a practical and economic standpoint, it doesn’t really make sense. Lagos to Ogun is literally a stone’s throw. A flight on that route would barely have time to reach cruising altitude before beginning descent. Besides if you hear an airline is charging about 100k from Lagos to Abeokuta, you certainly wouldn't board. Reason being that the distance is short, and the road isn’t plagued by the kind of insecurity seen on northern routes, and there are already cheaper alternatives like road transport and rail. This means that, passengers would naturally choose buses or trains to save costs. Thus creating low demand and near empty flights, and operating an aircraft under those conditions would almost certainly result in losses for the airline. So realistically, that route wouldn’t be viable, because the economics and passenger behavior just don’t support it. |

symbianDON:A simple google search could provide you some answers before responding. " Yes, overspeeding is an offence in Nigeria and can lead to significant fines, license endorsement points, and potentially imprisonment in serious cases or for repeat offenders, making it a criminal offense under the law." Cheers. |

oyeb15:Overspeeding. The road is good When you overspeed with over inflated tyres, the tyres will have no room for exapansion |

GanagiBitrus:Oga, did you read any comment directly from either AJ or his representatives? Are you sure that you are not the gullible one here, jumping to your conclusion without hearing directly from the victim? Did you not read from the police, who gave another version of the story? Why not wait to hear from AJ, who by God’s mercy survived the accident? |
