Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Adamawa Communities, Kill 14 Residents, Set Ablaze Shops, Food Stores


There is grief in Zah and Mubang communities in Yadul, Garaha District of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State, after suspected Boko Haram fighters launched yet another deadly attack, killing no fewer than 14 people and injuring two others.

Residents told SaharaReporters that the assailants stormed the villages at about 6:16pm on Monday, December 29, 2025, unleashing violence that claimed the lives of elders and youths. 

This is as the terrorists set ablaze food stores and other properties. By Tuesday morning, the communities were counting their dead and lamenting a tragedy they say has become a recurring nightmare.

“This is not the first attack, not even the second,” a community member said. “It has been persistent—year after year—without those responsible being brought to justice.”

Zah and Mubang are the latest in a long list of communities under Yadul, Garaha District—including Dabna, Kopre, Kultha and Kinging—that have repeatedly come under attack. 

Residents say the largely Christian farming settlements have been left exposed, forcing many to live as displaced persons in their own land.

The renewed assault has reignited outrage over what locals describe as the government’s failure to protect lives and property. 

“For how long will we continue as refugees in our own communities?” one resident asked. “Is the government not ashamed of its inability to secure its citizens?”

Beyond the human toll, the attacks are also crippling livelihoods. 

Most of the affected communities are farming settlements whose produce feeds entire villages and beyond. 

Locals argue that keeping farmers in poorly supported IDP camps is no solution to a crisis that continues to destroy food security and dignity.

Community leaders are calling for an urgent overhaul of the security architecture, insisting that relief handouts cannot replace safety. 

“Security of lives and property is non-negotiable,” a resident said. 

“Strengthen security, close the loopholes, and end these attacks.”

As mourning continues, residents of Yadul, Garaha District are urging the Nigerian government to take notice, break the silence and take a decisive action. 

“Enough is enough,” they said. “Let the world know what our communities are going through.”
