Days are the same,years are the same. There is nothing special about any particular year.

Why are you telling us?

For some many people all over the world, today is a special day because it's a New Year Day

But to me, it's just a Thursday

Man invented measurements. Days, weeks, months, years, classes, titles, grades, ....from visible things, invisibly tangible properties like current, weights, heights, pressure, heart beats, blood counts, body counts.....

All were invented for man to be his better self, to compete, for planning,for assessment, to reenergize, to advance..,.....

I believe in all these. I believe in Monday as the beginning of working days, I believe in Friday as official end of working days, I believe in days of worship, I believe in the end of months for salary earners, I believe in the end of year, my own year to mark my day of birthday,and how long I have been around, I believe in physical changes from infancy to adulthood and everything in -- between. I believe in a new determination at the beginning of a new session. I believe in a improvement over the previous planting season.

I believe in New Year.
I believe in Resolutions.
Resolution to aspire.
Resolution stop bad habits
Resolution be a better me
Resolution to serve humanity better.

Those of us who believe in Resolutions believe we want to conquer vices, enshrine virtues.
I have never seen anyone that made a New Year resolution to become worse.
If resolution is to be better.
I believe it absolutely.

Just as some already replied you, nobody is illusion, than person, who just wake up and sleep, without having psychology of him moving forward or backward of his existence .


Just imagine you enter university and no specific day of your graduation.

You start working in an organisation, no specific year of retirement.

Miscreants will just wake and find ways to criticize an established way of reasoning of their forefathers.

Simple.

Let's just help them pray for direction and real purpose so they don’t keep wasting their precious time on futile thoughts while thinking they are making sense.

You dey mind them. Approximately 365 days makes one Earth's revolution around the Sun which equals a year; so what's illogical to say we are starting a new year? So what's contradictory there?

Time is nothing but an illusion, a human and social construct created to help us differentiate between now and our perception of the past.

New Year comes and goes, but it's all in the mindset and being intentional about your plans for the year

The processes you mentioned are all universal, but the concept of measurements___seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years are all human inventions to organize events, keep order, and reduce chaos.
It also plays a role in shaping our perception of past, present, and future.
