The Pathway To An Igbo Presidency by akpumping7720(op):
Let me begin by congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advance on his victory in the coming 2027 presidential election.

I have said it repeatedly on this platform: the most realistic pathway to an Igbo presidency in Nigeria runs through a sitting South-West president.

Politics in Nigeria—especially when it comes to dealing with the North—requires careful calculation and deep understanding. The Northern political establishment is not easy to outmanoeuvre. With their long-held “born-to-rule” mentality, power is something they believe they are entitled to, and they are often willing to assert it forcefully.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s emergence did not happen by accident. It was the product of careful planning and political permutations by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Obasanjo understood the health challenges of President Yar’Adua and deliberately positioned Jonathan as vice president. Many within the PDP caucus were unaware of this long-term plan, but Baba knew that the time had come for the goose that laid the golden egg to also have a taste of power.

Today, history appears to be presenting another opportunity—this time in the person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Why do you think many governors from the Eastern extraction are increasingly aligning with him? Tinubu understands the Northern oligarchy. He has dined and wined with them. He knows their strengths, their fears, and their pressure points. More importantly, he has learnt from the mistakes of leaders like Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief MKO Abiola.

Consider the political drama that preceded the 2023 elections. Tinubu played the game masterfully. After becoming president, did you see him repeat those theatrics? No. He had achieved his objective.

Even if Peter Obi had won the 2023 election, would he have been able to restrain the Northern power bloc and their entrenched interests—many of whom control instruments capable of sabotaging the economy? That is a hard question many refuse to ask honestly.

The reality is this: any Igbo man aspiring to lead Nigeria must recognise the moment and align strategically. This is not the time for political isolation or moral grandstanding. It is the time to learn from the man who knows the road—the man who understands who to align with, who to avoid, and how power is truly negotiated in Nigeria.

Politics is not driven by emotion; it is driven by strategy. And those who want power must first understand how it is won.

Lovely write-up. I hope the Easterners understand this. Nzogbu nzogbu politics has never favoured them and it will never.

A word, they say, is enough for the wise.

Tinubu's successor will definitely be a northerner in 2031. You don't need a seer to tell you this.

The reality is bitter but it must be accepted.

The LP Obidients should stop being petty and accept the reality. The 2027 election won't be an exception. The SW will be the major decider.

The Igbo presidency can only be possible after the 2027 election.

The worst thing to happen to my people in SE is to ever in this life align with SW
Any igbo who votes SW president has Kanu blood in his hands.
Our only partner without envy in your success is the north.I have lived with both region so I am saying it with 100% confidence

The igbo presidency may not even be feasible after the 2027 election; despite the alignment of the current Eastern governors, the ruling party will not find it funny by giving the ticket to an easterner when it's actually the turn of the North. Except a scenario like that of Goodluck Jonathan plays out.

No wahala Streetinvestor, goodluck to your political gladiators.

But know this, northerners now or in 100 years to come when this our generation has even gone will never handover power to an easterner.

Re: The Pathway To An Igbo Presidency by AMINDA: 1:31pm On Jan 01
Lol. After all the flowery comments as vetted from the WhatsApp group, will Tinubu be willing to ditch the muslim-muslim ticket and revert to a muslim-christian ticket? Tinubu selfishly ran a polarising ticket to ensure his own election and is still aggressively chasing after Kwankwaso, a hausa/fulani Muslim and promising him heaven and earth. But Agbadorians continue to play both sides by claiming he's the Southern candidate who cares about the South. Tinubu didn't win the South in 2023 and still won't win it convincingly come 2027.

What they dont know is if eventually north won the next election and coming back to south, it's still coming back to Yoruba because they will surely negotiate again. The only way it can go to other southern region is to negotiate with Bat now and work for him, them wait till north finish their 8yrs too.

Simple as ABC..... That's why I corrected a commenter who said they have a chance after '2027 elections'. Alignment starts now, while consideration comes up after the northerners had done their 8 years. So we are talking about 2039 not even 2027 or 2031.

Some of us don't dine or have access to politicians; i also believe it same with those supporting the oppositions. We support politicians with brains and not nzogbu nzogbu politicians.

Watch out brother, even your polling unit will be won by ADC come 2027. Tinubu knows that he is spent and losing hence he is combative with all opposition governors.
Let me give you this secret, of all PDP governors that deceived defect to APC, only Fubara is committed to APC, the rest are what we call bandwagon APC governors. Tinubu is now forcing Bala Muhammed in Bauchi, Mustang in Plateau and Kano governor to join APC, they will join, but will never be committed to APC on presidential elections.
Some, especially second term governors are just MOLES.
Did Fubara not go to Wike and declare "Wike is my leader, I cannot fight my lrader", tell me what is happening now, after regaining power. You can force govers to join APC, you cannot force them to coerce electorate. On the night of elections in the SS, the message will be passed, "Vote ADC for President, vote APC fir goveror".

I suspect Aregbesola & Amaechi are amongst the APC spies in their midst.

If majority vote for a pig, a pig will be the president. That's how it works.

So answering president is nothing, it is what you achieved with the presidency that is worth it.

Eg. Mao Zedong (China, 1949–1976): His policies like the "Great Leap Forward" and the Cultural Revolution are linked to an estimated 40 to 80 million deaths, primarily from famine and persecution.
