FreeStuffsNG:It is not fixing the road that is the problem. It is the anyhowness of Nigerian society. First and foremost, are there any speed limit signage on that road? Any road markings or traffic signs? Or even road cameras ? These are the issue that make this country a failed state. Everything is just anyhow. Our leaders do the barest minimum and expect a round of applause. |

Sigh... Until we stop allowing every Tunde, Musa and Ejike get licensed to drive without proper training and qualification, such preventable accidents will continue unchecked. |

I saw the accident when I was going to Mowe. The truck was carrying drinks. That Lagos Ibadan express road has been claiming lives. It is always good to keep thanking for everything |

GoldHorse:honestly vehicle that will be not yet in 100km/hr but vibration will be too much.....there's much thats needed to be done on that road nothing is bad if cameras are installed to monitor stubborn drivers that don't obey road traffic rules & regulations |

Afrobasic:You're clearly ignorant. This year I will not waste time on ignorant people who speak with authority on what they clearly don't understand. Nigeria’s not even in the top countries with road accident yet you want to drag in your unpatriotic view into it. Inferiority complex/low self esteem is not bliss o. Diogo Jota and his brother got killed in road accident in Nigeria too, abi? Or those 40 burnt to death and 115 injured today 1st of January,2026 are Nigerians too? Smh

harsysky:We are our own problem. If the government start enforcing speed limit on our highways and start punishing erring drivers, we will still be the onr shouting that government is too hostile, government is this and that. Infact some people will drag government to court. Look at ordinary baning of tinted cars, see how citizens and NBA dragged government to court. |

The head of FRSC should be sacked. It's there responsibility to ensure the roads are safe. God bless Nigeria. |

OLAADEGBU:There are some jobs not suitable for Nigerians and the Government should outsource them to other African nationals who are less greedy. I don't think any Nigerian is suitable for Road safety job by nature. Imagine alerting Road safety officers to an accident and on their way they cited some yahoo boys on the road, park their car to "obtain" the yahoo boys on the allegation that the boys were driving without holding their tuition fee receipts or having a laptop without receipt. All these while the accident victims are about to die. |

And you will think that road is ordinary ..let me not say anything...you need to go and read ancient books about gates in cities, every city has gates and gates are strongholds . every state has a gate ...things are spiritual, its not about speeding. Its a spirit thing...why always that road eg Otedola Bridge again...Read, read read,, |

FreeStuffsNG:Oga, simple question, are there speed limits or speed cameras on the highway? simple question, you dey convulse. Abi do you think that those sane societies install these devices on their highway for decorations? Your initial postulation was that over-speeding is a common occurrence on that high way and I have simply suggested the appropriate solution to limit this. But here you are defending the indefensible in the name of patriotism. Just today alone, there was another accident that killed six on that same high way due to over-speeding. Over the course of the coming days/weeks, there would be lots more accidents/deaths there, simply because of the greedy leaders and their lowIQ defenders that refuse to acknowledge or do the right thing. |

Melagros:Stop all these hypocrisy and go straight to the point to blame Tinubu for all accidents. Hope Obi was able to eliminate accidents in Anambra when he was gov? Everyone is talking about over speeding of drivers on that road but all you want to deceive with is politicians. Is it Tinubu that will tell drivers not to overspeed in the roads? Obi and Obidients have nothing tangible to offer the country other than gibberish. So, its Trump that regulates drivers speeds on American highways? Obi is a failure. |

MadamVanessa:to think some people LIKE this nonsense you are saying shows the level of thinking of some people on this platform because you are not making sense. If a truck driver is making U-turn, Tinubu is the one that should tell the next motor coming to be patient? Or it was Tinubu that told Anthony Joshua driver to over speed? I pray for deliverance for all off you hating on yourself because Tinubu is far gone. |

I have driven on that road many times and i often wonder who issued commercial licenses to those drivers who ply the road. You'll see two trailers side by side and neither one of them can overtake each other, but common sense does'nt tell tell them to stay off the fast lane. I also remeber in the old days, drivers who you want to overtake will wave to you either its ok or don't or go ahead. What FRS gives them licenses ? If you ever observe, you'll see police and FRS taking bribes. Sure, over speeding is also a problem |

Streamz:And where in this world is not deadly? If you travelled to US, you can go into a mall and never return because of a lunatic gun man. Accidents also happen and kill people everywhere, I knew a family friend who grew up in Nigeria but chose to relocate to US. He was killed in US by a truck on his way to work one morning. The same person worked in one of the commercial banks branches in the north and used to commute regularly down south to see his young family in nigeria here before choosing to port to US. I sometimes wonder if he may still be alive had he remained in Nigeria. So please stop deluding yourself that there is one place on earth where hands of death no reach. Nigeria may have some peculiar problems o but death rules everywhere, all over there is death. |

MadamVanessa:Why would he when many blamed him and sided with FRSC reports that the cause of the crash was his driver over speeding While some agreed it was burst tyre. This incident will leave scar on him even if the driver was to be blamed |

All I see is reckless driver and over speeding, these drivers should be talk to, even some persangers are not helping they will rather encourage the drivers to speed more, because they want to get to their destination on time |
