EFCC, NCOS Officials Clash In Court Over Ex-agf Malami by dre11(op): 1:11pm On Jan 02
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the officials of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), on Friday, clashed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, over the trial of former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN.

Apparently, the two agencies engaged themselves over who should be in charge of security during the trial of the former minister.

On December 30, the Court ordered his remand at the Kuje correvtional centre til January 2, when his bail application will be heard.

Both officials of the two agencies threatened to shoot themselves over who should take charge of security at the court’s entrance.

As at the time of this report, both EFCC and NCoS would now have to clear journalists before gaining access to the court.

They, however, stopped some journalists from gaining access into the courtroom, saying the courtroom was filled up.

Malami, his son, Abdullaziz, and one Asabe Bashir were standing trial over allegation of fraud.

Again, the lack of institutional integrity and strong adherence to the principle of separation of power shames Nigeria publicly.

I am sure somewhere, in the rule book, it is made clear who should do what in this situation. Yet, vested interested means some overstep their jurisdiction.

Just like how we all read, according to the rule of law, that the silly and misguided Yarima erred legally and jurisdictionally preventing a duly mandated Minister of the Federal republic of Nigeria carry out his duty on behalf of Mr.President who is commander in chief of the Nigerian armed forces.

Only in Nigeria. Two paramilitary agencies pointing guns at each other over a man who allegedly looted the treasury. If it was a common yahoo boy or a phone thief, they would have beaten him together. But because it’s a 'big fish,' they are fighting for the right to be his primary bouncer. This country is a 24/7 Season Movie. Netflix should just buy the rights to Nigeria.

All of them are not serious. If Malami change to APC today, then you will see them praising him again. Where is Yaya Bello today. All his sins are forgiven. We all know Tinubu is a jester. He is not fighting corruption but just want them to decamp to APC

This Correctional officers that cannot correct themselves, they need to put them where they belong. That was why the DSS beat them up and tore their uniforms during the trial of Looter Emefiele some time ago.

The EFCC are the prosecutor here, why not allow the presiding Judge to hand over the accused to you for custody.
I think they need more beating to correct their brain 🧠.

Nigeria is truly a comedy stage.

We have very very very weak institutions.

Power is indeed transient.I remember Malami with his overbloated pride during national debate on Rugga Settlements in Buhari's days. One-time predator has turned to a mere prey What a life!

Malami trial is because he is not supporting Tinubu, period.
Okowa that was first invited by EFCC we are not hearing anything again. What about Yahaya Bello who stole billions and found his children school fees until graduation. Like he paid upfront.
So we understand the game going on. They have seen that Malami has stolen a lot for the next election and they need to clip is feathers before then.

it is not the duty of NCS or EFCC to clear or mount security at any court room over a case or even clear journalists to cover the trial.

It is the judiciary, the sitting judge precisely who decides what happens in his courtroom.

The unprofessional EFCC and NCS should know their job description and duties.

Also, as malami has already been remanded, it is solely the duty of the NCS to protect and present him to the court and not that of the EFCC who no longer bears custody of the accused.

suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber, Ibrahim Mohammed, captured by troops of Operation HADIM KAI in collaboration with hunters in Yobe State has revealed chilling details of how he was recruited, paid and deployed to carry out deadly attacks on worshippers in Maiduguri, admitting that he received up to N100,000 for suicide bombing missions.

Re: EFCC, NCOS Officials Clash In Court Over Ex-agf Malami by Dogalmighty17: 2:01pm On Jan 02
The EFCC is stupid.
If the court has said Malami should be remanded in Kuje prison which is under the NCOS, it then means the prison officials are in charge of and for him.
All this gra gra and still the EFCC will lose the case.

For your mind you have spoken. Someone that was taken from kuji prison or whatever prison to court and you are saying the correctional officers can't correct themselves when you guys can't think properly. Malami is under the supervision of the correctional officer. EFCC is to prove the case of corruption, loots or stealing to the court but not to have Malami in their jurisdiction. Politics make some of you don't think with your head.
You even brought the DSS matter up to justify your ignorance and anyhow-ness. Emiefela was to be taken to the prison as delivered by the judge but DSS went against the judgement that they want to keep him in their custody. Na God go help some of you guys because you are behaving like our evil leaders.
