LegendHero:The Southwest voted Buhari against a Southern Jonathan because it was a Fulani/Yoruba ticket. Simple and short. Don't try to sugar-coat it. It's ironic that you now parade yourselves as the Southern candidate after disenfranchising Jonathan and nearly disenfranchising Obi from the race. Here we go again with the played out cliché of celebrating defected governors. I ask you again, would any of these governors be defecting today if they are sure that their nomination forms will be signed by their parties? Why do you celebrate what you forcefully engineered and think it is equivalent to love and acceptance? 2023 proved that the Nigerian electorates are getting mature and aware. APC won gubernatorial elections in the Southeast but Tinubu failed to win a single state there. Same thing happened in SS except for Rivers and we know the circumstances surrounding that. Not all the governors will be willing to shed their people's blood just to deliver Tinubu. Okowa couldn't deliver himself as a V.P candidate with power of incumbency. Despite the clamour by respected Northern figures that power should head South, Atiku won all the states in the NE and NW except for 3 states that were won by Tinubu. The margins will only be higher come 2027 because Tinubu has lost ground tremendously in the North. What incentive will a tried and failed Yorubaman running a muslim-muslim ticket offer to a self-respecting christian or Southerner that will make him ditch a mixed ticket of an Atiku/Obi? Turn of the South? Which part of the South? |

AMINDA:Lol are you saying if Buhari had picked a Yoruba that is not within the ACN bloc, he would have won the SW in 2015? You are a novice. It's ironic that you now parade yourselves as the Southern candidate after disenfranchising Jonathan and nearly disenfranchising Obi from the race.Who is parading Tinubu as a Southern candidate? He is from the Southern geopolitical bloc, that’s why they affix Southern. Jonathan currently is supporting Tinubu with his family and Ijaw kinsmen. Nobody in his right sense will say Tinubu will win South East, Obi will take that any day. Nobody is disenfranchising Obi, it is the core North that is doing that if anybody. Here we go again with the played out cliché of celebrating defected governors. I ask you again, would any of these governors be defecting today if they are sure that their nomination forms will be signed by their parties? Why do you celebrate what you forcefully engineered and think it is equivalent to love and acceptance? Why won’t the party sign their nomination form? Do you know what is called a governor decamping into your party especially in states your political party is not that strong? I don’t think you understand politics and the art. Stop repeating this nonsense please. Which part of the South?Governors are very powerful if they truly support you. 2023 was a different case because it was a religious kinda vote. That is why Obi won the middle belt and the tribal attachment made him win the South East and some of the ally South South states. Have you asked yourself how Tinubu won Benue, Rivers? How did Atiku win Akwa Ibom, Osun, and Bayelsa? It was simply because the governors supported them and in Benue case, the incoming governor Father Alia has the support of the people behind him and it showed for APC. In each state, there are dynamics. Politics is not a one way thing. What works in Bauchi might not work in Oyo. If APC governors in the South East truly support Tinubu without no double dealing, he will easily get 25% in their states. Lastly, it is the turn of the South (any part can take it). Atiku knows Tinubu is not someone to push over. A Northerner was there for 8 years, a Southerner MUST use 8 years too. Nigeria is not for the NORTH alone. They sure understand this and that is exactly why they gave Tinubu some numbers in 2023 and they will repeat that in 2027. Atiku should wait till 2031. |
