Atiku Excited, Welcomes Peter Obi To ADC by Segunbabba(op): 3:55pm On Jan 02
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has welcomed the official declaration of former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, into the African Democratic Congress ADC, describing the development as a significant moment in the history of political coalitions in Nigeria.

Atiku made the remarks on Wednesday in a statement shared on his verified Facebook handle, where he expressed optimism that Obi’s entry into the ADC would strengthen opposition politics and lay the groundwork for a government capable of delivering prosperity and peace to Nigerians.

Today marks a significant moment in the history of political coalitions in our country, with the official declaration of my brother and associate, Peter Obi, into the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” Atiku said.

The former PDP presidential candidate said he was pleased to officially welcome the former LP presidential candidate Obi into the party, stressing that their collaboration would help foster a “virile opposition” that can effectively challenge the ruling party and offer Nigerians a credible alternative.

“It is my pleasure to welcome him officially, as we look forward to a robust working relationship that will foster a virile opposition, one that will ultimately form a government capable of bringing prosperity and peace to our people,” he added.

Atiku also referenced the symbolic take-off of what he described as the “ADC Coalition train” from Enugu, the capital of the South-East zone, noting that the choice of location underscored the coalition’s national outlook and inclusive agenda.

Peter Obi has formally defected to the ADC, alongside several prominent political leaders from the South-East geopolitical zone.

Obi said the move to the ADC was part of a broader effort to forge a united opposition platform capable of working with like-minded leaders across the country to “rescue Nigeria from the poor governance of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).

Dignitaries at the event included former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha; Senators Ben Obi, Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye and Gilbert Nnaji; Chief Onyema Ugochukwu; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; Senator Sam Egwu, as well as several serving and former members of the National Assembly.

Also in attendance were leaders from other parts of the country, including former Senate President and national chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark; former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Tambuwal; former governors from the South-East, and other political heavyweights.

You mean Atiku was excited as he welcomes his running mate to the party?

Because if the public feelers is anything to go by, they have accepted that pitobi should deputise his fulani master.

A perfect union of strange bed fellows but will as usual not still see the light of the day.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Why are you bothered. The possibility of that is making you all uneasy right? Don't worry, more intrigues are on the way. Tinubu has no pathway to re-election.

Re: Atiku Excited, Welcomes Peter Obi To ADC by emkz: 6:55pm On Jan 02
Atiku excited that the person who helped him lose is now with him.

What Obi doesn't realize is that they convinced him to join ADC to reduce his capacity to cause divided votes.

Some are saying Atiku would hand over the ticket to Obi. So Atiku slaved to form coalition to hand over ticket to Obi? Let's assume Atiku does so. Would El Rufai support Obi? Would Amaechi support Obi?

If Obi is given ADC ticket, Obi will defeat Tinubu before 8am on election day online.

This politics in Nigeria is becoming boring. Let's face it, 2027 election is already APC's to win.
Re: Atiku Excited, Welcomes Peter Obi To ADC by kolafolabi(m): 6:56pm On Jan 02
I hope it’s not a case of suffering and forced smiles, because there’s no way Obi defeats Atiku in the primaries unless Atiku steps aside for him.

Atiku likes a fellow Agege. Peter Obi's effeminate voice probably makes for a soundtrack undecided

Nnamdi Kanu called him Atiku's girlfriend grin

The undeniable truth is that there is no future under Tinubu.

He has plunged this country into chaos with staggering incompetence and unprecedented neglect, abandoning security and fleeing to France
Re: Atiku Excited, Welcomes Peter Obi To ADC by bunmioguns(m): 7:01pm On Jan 02
The National Association of Serial Defectors (NASD) just held their annual convention. Atiku welcoming Obi to a new party is like a landlord welcoming a tenant to a house they both know is going to be demolished by 2027. Same actors, different costumes, same old script of 'Rescuing Nigeria' while rescuing their own relevance. At this rate, Atiku will join the Boy Scouts next week if he thinks they have a delegate system.
Re: Atiku Excited, Welcomes Peter Obi To ADC by ngmgeek(m):
I strongly believe that both of them will lower their ego and work together for the stability of Nigeria. Peter Obi will not be an ordinary vice president and Atiku knows that. Both will win as a team if they want to, because what we have now is disgusting. You may be denial if you disagree. Don't quote me because of the ill gotten data you got from those crooks. Fact remains that Bulaba is a seasoned politician who shouldn't be underated cheesy
Re: Atiku Excited, Welcomes Peter Obi To ADC by bunmioguns(m): 7:02pm On Jan 02
Behold, the ‘Coalition of the Rejected.’ This isn't a political movement; it’s a retirement home relocation. You have Atiku (the eternal applicant) and Obi (the professional traveler) coming together to form a party that will somehow finish 3rd in four different colors. Same people who couldn't agree in PDP or LP are now forming a 'united front' in ADC? This train isn't leaving Enugu; it’s stuck at the station with no engine. cool
