GOVERNOR MUTFWANG’S RESIGNATION, SENATOR JANG REAFFIRMS PLATEAU PDP’S STABILITY AND UNITY

The attention of Senator (Dr) Jonah David Jang, CON, has been drawn to the formal resignation of the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, from the PDP. He has noted the Governor's decision to withdraw from the PDP and join the APC, in light of his personal commitment to purposeful leadership and service delivery, as reflected in the resignation notice.

Governor Mutfwang had earlier informed Senator Jang of his desire to join the ruling All Progressive Party, insisting that it is in the interest of the State.

Senator Jang joins the State PDP leadership to reassure members, supporters, and the general public that the party remains stable, liberal, and firmly positioned to continue playing its vital role in Nigeria’s democratic development. The party will also continue to engage constructively with its members and remain dedicated to strengthening internal democracy while advancing policies and programs that promote inclusive governance and national development.

PDP members and supporters are enjoined to remain confident and committed.

To Governor Mutfwang, Senator Jang wishes him well in his future endeavors. As his father, Senator Jang’s doors are always open whenever he seeks counsel, and he urges him to remain focused on serving the people of Plateau State and to work toward the betterment of the Plateau people who voted him to power, because ultimately, power lies in their hands.

To all those who will join the Governor on his new political path, he charges them to put the interests of Plateau above party or other parochial interests, hoping that, in the end, Plateau will be the ultimate beneficiary of the political gladiators’ actions.

I just remembered he was one of those who aligned with ogogoro wike in sabotaging the party in 2023.

Just Plateau? I thought APC now has 30 governors, shouldn't that be 30 states in the bag? Jonathan had 28 governors by the way and he didn't have to coerce, induce or destroy their parties to get them to defect, but he still ended up losing his re-election. Time is a gentleman.

Even the APC nat chair was vehemently against mutfwangs defection until he obviously was made to cool it. He had his eyes primed on recontesting in 2027.

Tinubu apparently understands how roundly unpopular he is. All I know is an Atiku Obi ticket is the biggest threat that stares Tinubu in the face. How he will handle this remains to be seen. Fingers crossed.

Tinubu has selfishly sacrificed political ambitions in virtually all states to secure his own re-election. He must think he is a monarch or something. The revolt will be unprecedented. Reminds one of the quote by a king at war in mediaeval times;

"Some of you may die but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make".

This thread is about Plateau state so it’s only sensible for me to limit my discussion to the state.

As per Jonathan, you really don’t need to lie to make any point. At formation, APC had 10 governors. Before the 2015 election, five PDP governors joined the party. Anambra was also under APGA. So, where did Jonathan see 28 governors in 2015?
