PROFESSOR PAT ITOMI is one of the brightest Nigerians I love and respect. We still spoke two days ago when he called me. He gave a speech at my 40th birthday lecture some 25 years ago. I truly admired him as a young man who managed VOLKSWAGEN Nigeria in those good old days. I have followed his trajectory ever since. He is a man of immense passion whose theoretical knowledge of the rise of the Asian Tigers is quite fascinating, and tempting. But that’s where my romance with him ends. I believe he has infected my very dear Brother PETER OBI with his romanticisation of the Asian countries and obvious developmental successes. My candid view is that every nation must have it’s own organic strategies while it may study and borrow ideas, and ideals, from elsewhere. The Nigerian topography is an abnormal configuration. For example, GANI FAWEHINMI, UTOMI, OBI, FALANA, SHEHU SANI, SOWORE and others should be able to win elections and become our own BARACK OBAMA, but not here. Primordial sentiments rule the game. This is why the above statement credited to my Egbon, PAT, and his like minds, often break my heart. He seems not to have learnt from his own personal experience, and example, that “big grammar” don’t win elections. DONALD TRUMP is back today because the Republicans needed him, warts and all, to neutralise KAMALA HARRIS. Pure and simple. It is not about zoning or who’s more brilliant, or elegant. The key word is REALITY. APC had a far more FASCINATING, CEREBRAL, ELOQUENT and RESPECTABLE YEMI OSINBAJO when it chose BOLA AHMED TINUBU as its flagbearer in 2023. I’m, therefore, disappointed, and flabbergasted, at the total lack of political PRACTICALITY on the part (no pun intended) of PAT UTOMI, who’s been a serial victim of Nigeria’s electoral process. Anyone insisting that OBI cannot run behind ANYONE is definitely not a Democrat who wishes to rescue Nigeria from one man dictatorship. In 2019, one visionary gentleman, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR, placed OBI on national platform, against the wishes of many Governors and PDP stakeholders. OBI should be encouraged to be a humble party man… https://www.westernpost.ng/the-naivete-of-pat-utomi-and-other-intelligentsia-by-dele-momodu/ |

This is the best piece I ever saw dele momodu write... Its practical and pragmatic. Nothing he said here can be faulted. I particularly liked the part he talked about copy and paste solutions from Asia also which has always been my stance that Nigeria needs tailor made solutions. This is the shortest and most brilliant piece I ever seen yet from momodu! |

Obi will never be running mate to anyone again. Never!! How many votes did PDP get in Delta state in 2023 despite Okowa who was Atiku's running mate? Momodu is the naive one here. Pick Wike as Atiku's running mate. |

Wow! Dele Momodu now goes about attacking Prof. Pat Utomi just because of an extremely corrupt, incompetent and born to rule Fulani Atiku? This is the most embarrassing and disgraceful piece I’ve ever read in a long time. Pat Utomi does not deserve this from an emergency Obi lover like Dele Momodu. It is so unfortunate that characters like Dele Momodu are so desperate for pose that they are willing to throw even their own children under the bus to achieve their aim. What exactly will an Atiku presidency benefits anybody in the south? How exactly will at Atiku presidency combat Fulani and Islamic extremism that is the cause of our insecurity challenges? How exactly do we tell the parent of Deborah in Edo state, the home state of Dele Momodu that the same Atiku who supported those that killed their daughter is now the best option for the south? How? Anyway, we still have so many reasonable people in this country. We shall stand our ground against these power mongers in 2027. We shall never allow them to derail the developmental trajectory that we are currently experiencing. |

ottersberger:So go and carry him and put in Aso Rock. You don't want him to be a loyal party man, then PO should have come up with his own platform where he'll dictate what happens. |

seunmsg:Lol. All these vituperations while Tinubu is gearing up to repeat his muslim-muslim ticket. We know Tinubu only cares about the votes. You are pushing muslim-muslim in the North while screaming "Southern agenda" in the South. Did the South vote Tinubu? We all know Obi was the Southern candidate and still is. "When it comes to issues of security, the buck stops at the president's desk". That's a direct quote from Tinubu himself against a Southern president, Goodluck Jonathan. Now, you suddenly care about the South. Dead on arrival! |

Dele momodu should calm down it is not always about chop chop chop he can as well switch to supporting tinubu like the kinds of Reno ,ffk, bwala ,onanuga etc if he needs food badly . |

Pat Utomi is the Tinubu man who Reno Omokri kept accusing of luring Obi away from the PDP in order to split opposition votes in 2023. He and the likes of Doyin Okupe who later jumped ship immediately after the election. He has no polling unit to deliver and Obi has clocked them already. Making his declaration in Enugu is symbolic. Obi no longer represents himself but the political interests of his region. He is the convener and pioneer of the coalition and he will take an unemotional decision. That is why he keeps saying that he's not desperate to become president in 2027. APC are now claiming the V.P position is a spare tyre but Tinubu wanted to become V.P to Buhari in 2015 but for muslim-muslim. He ended up nominating Osinbajo and the rest is history. Here he is dancing with Tinubu. — ~Hatitude (@Hatitude3) January 2, 2026 |

seunmsg:Malami stole during APC Buhari's administration. You see what you are doing to yourself? Owo church attack also in the same time. So why are you prosecuting them and leaving another set? |

atiku4President:There's a reason it's called the African Democratic Party and not the Atiku Party. The idea that someone can exploit another's hard-earned popularity to gain power is as foolish as touting a primary election that is clearly already rigged. We all witnessed this exact scenario play out within the PDP during the 2022 primaries. We are not averse to primary elections, but we are dealing with Nigerians here, and we both know what that means. The last time we took things for granted, a president was announced at 4 am. Not this time. Have you asked yourself why Tinubu's supporters do not bother with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar?. Clearly, they know he cannot win; they know where the real competition lies. For this reason alone, Mr. Peter Obi is the name on everyone's lips in Nigeria today. Politics is a game of both interests and numbers. Numbers are gathered and sustained by popularity, which is a direct result of a candidate's policies, integrity, competence, compassion, ideas, and personality being endearing. This is usually how elections are won, as was evident in the 2023 presidential contest involving Mr. Peter Obi, who was standing for the first time. For this coalition's objectives to be realized, Alhaji Atiku and his supporters must understand the situation, just as we in the Obidient movement have done. We both need to work together here. As the ADC, we finally have the wind in our sails, and now is not the time for feudal politics. |

Dele is lately pretending to be a politician that commands followership. Atiku and obi midwifed the coalition under the persuasion of Utomi. So dele should keep off pls |

According to Lere Olayinka, the era of:let's chose someone who can win election is over" PDP said they are not going to zone in 2023 but they'll pick a candidate who can win elections and that's mark the end of PDP ADC will be gone before 2027 election if they fail to pick Obi as their flag bearer |

seunmsg:I sometimes cringe and marvel at your hypocrisy. You call Atiku extremely corrupt, incompetent but support Tinubu, a notorious drug bárón, certificate forger, identity thief, and buccaneering power grabber engaging in crîmînál state capture who has held Lagos hostage for 20+ years, enriching himself and empowering street thugs. Now he runs the country into chaos, loots at will, abandons security, and flees to France and you still defend him |
