Maybe they were egotistical (can you also call Naomi egotistical), maybe not; maybe she's had an attitude adjustment over the years. Bottom line is these 'receipts' are not good enough. This lady hasn't even won the world title since she debuted here, that has got to count for something.

AEW wrestlers who fight on the indies have exhibition matches or defend their AEW titles.
The titles they win are from promotions whom they have a partnership agreement with like CMLL, NJPW, STARDOM.
In the few cases where they win indy titles, they're never on TV with em. Why is Mone an exception to that rule?

Tony Khan won't allow her win the Top title, 14 other belts and the Owen Heart tournament within the same year!!! That one na overkill.

Character work, storyy or whatever you term as a defence isn't enough to justify what she did. She has no choice but to lose all the belts as vacating them would result in blowback.

So Tony didn't give her the big one, he gave her the small one and she paraded it like it's the big one, sometimes you almost forget it isn't. She parades it with pride; not like Roman back in those days, so much so Cena had to call him out on it. No drama with her, no backstage rumour or politics overheard, just doing business.

It doesn't matter if it's not her idea or not, having accomplishments and records isn't a sign of ego. It only becomes one if it's forced or created through politics and manipulation and not deserved.

So this is the story, the character is an egomaniac, a big name but can't win the big one; so she uses all the time and energy gather smaller and irrelevant titles from other promotions to make herself feel good. At the end of the day she's exposed for what she truly is and her downward spiral begins, which is what we're seeing now. I don't care for stories, I'm just telling you what they're doing. You need to separate the character from the person.

You're taking the circumstances of her leaving WWE, simply because she was fighting for her right and refused to be bullied. Naomi was also part. And yet you don't want to call her an egomaniac, only Mercedes deserves to be called one. Sheesh.

Naomi went to TNA, won the title from Donna Peruzzo then put over Jordynne Grace before leaving.
She returned to WWE, held her head down, lost a number of matches before she finally won the title this year. Did she win 14 other belts in WWE,TNA and NXT?

Hogan was a politiker, the news are there - emphasis on news - you're just basing your criticisms of Mercedes on rumours. Things leak now, especially in AEW. Cm Punk, Andrade, Eddie Kingston, Brit, Tegan, Sammy - all had their news of ego trips and controversy pasted on wrestling news outlets; how come we haven't heard any about Mercedes, just curious.

You keep saying Owen and 14 belts. She had to win the Owen to get her the World title match at All In - a Tony Khan decision that made absolute sense since she's the biggest name there. And yes, she won 13 irrelevant belts to further her 'egomaniac' character all under the approval of Tony Khan and permission of the indy managements. You guys should free her. You want ego trips, go look for Charlotte Flair's story.
