Woman Returns ₦330 Million Mistakenly Credited To Her Bank Account by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:30am On Jan 03
In a rare display of integrity and honesty, a Nigerian woman, Aisha Isah Yelwa, has returned the sum of ₦330 million that was mistakenly credited to her bank account.

Mrs. Yelwa, a small-scale trader based in Lapai, Niger State, disclosed that she noticed the unusual balance in her First Bank account at about 3:49 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to her account, the discovery came shortly after she had visited the bank to complain about repeated deductions linked to loans she had previously taken to support her business.

She explained that she decided to check her account later in the day to confirm whether the issue had been resolved when she suddenly noticed a balance far beyond anything she had ever owned.

I was only checking to see if the loan deductions had stopped when I saw the money. I was confused and scared,” she said.

Mrs. Yelwa revealed that there was no credit alert, no transaction description, and no explanation indicating where the money came from, which immediately raised concerns.

Realising the funds were not hers, she promptly reported the issue to bank officials and cooperated fully to ensure the money was returned to its rightful owner.

Her action has since attracted widespread praise on social media, with many Nigerians hailing her as a symbol of honesty at a time when financial crimes and fraud are prevalent.

Several commentators noted that returning such a huge sum, especially as a small-scale trader, reflects strong personal values and integrity.

As of the time of filing this report, First Bank has yet to issue an official statement detailing how the error occurred or confirming the recovery of the funds.

Now watch powder dealers, the high priests of money worship, descend on her with thunderous insults for having “missed her destiny.” In their gospel, integrity is a foolish detour and fraud is divine alignment.

I genuinely detest those people. If you ever find yourself among them, keep your guard up, because they are perpetually on the lookout for how to outsmart, shortchange, or outright defraud.

Seeing someone like this Yelwa among them is about as likely as snow in the Sahara. Truly pitiful.

She said there was no credit alert relating to that money. If na me, I go leave that money like that for 1year. If after 1yr, e still dey there, na to withdraw am straight.

If you leave the amount there, it will likely disappear the same way it appeared.

If she had used the money the highest the bank could do was blocking her account(s). I've seen that multiple times, the woman should be commended.

No credit alert or SMS .

This show that banks have been moving funds through various people accounts to clean it.

If you know how often funds pass through various accounts without notifications before reaching it intended recipient.

Fraudulent banks.

😂 Money I for use 50m stake 2 odds before I return.

I've once seen such money in my account before, 700k. There was no credit alert, no transaction record on my bank statement or app history.
I have to leave it since it wasn't a wrong transfer. I left it for over 6 months, the bank was deducting their usually charges from it.

After the 8th month, I start deducting my own charges until my charges exceeded the money.

Wrong transfer I'll return, ghost money goes nowhere.

Before you come for me, remember the bank started touching the money before me.

They were taking charges and I was also taking charges until there was no money left for both of us to take charges from.
