Bandits Invade Niger State Market, Kill 30, Kidnap Many by iwaeda(op): 1:14pm On Jan 04

No fewer than 30 persons, including women, were killed on Saturday when bandits attacked Kasuwan Daji market in Demo community, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The attackers also carted away foodstuffs and other valuables worth millions of naira before setting the market ablaze.

Daily Trust gathered that the terrorists stormed the community around 4 pm on Saturday and operated until the early hours of Sunday.

An unspecified number of people were also reportedly kidnapped during the attack.

A resident of the area, who spoke to Daily Trust on the telephone, said more than 50 people were tied and killed by the terrorists, who operated without resistance.

The attackers were said to have emerged from the National Park in Borgu LGA and launched the attack in broad daylight.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said over 30 people lost their lives, while several others were kidnapped.

He said: “On 03/01/2026 at about 9 pm, information received revealed that at about 4:30 pm of the same date, suspected bandits from the National Park forest along Kabe District invaded Kasuwan-Daji, located at Demo Village via Kabe, and burnt the market, looted shops, and carted away food items.

“On 04/01/2026 at about 8 am, a report indicated that a joint security team visited the scene, and over 30 victims lost their lives during the attack. Some persons were also kidnapped. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the kidnapped victims. Further developments will be communicated”.

These news that always make headlines like bandits Fulani herders killing 10, 30, 60, 100 people etc

Are they actually true or na just exaggerated

Like has anyone seen these killings face to face or seen dead bodies

Because I no dey too believe say all these killings will be happening and Tinubu won’t swing into action

But if it’s true that these killings happen and Tinubu kept quiet

Then It’s safe to say Tinubu is a failure

I no wan use the words like mumu or foolish because it will be an insult to mumu and foolish people comparing them to that mannequin in Aso Rock

Solution to the terrorism is not using a ship somewhere around the Atlantic and firing some few surface to air missiles in sokoto. Terrorism in Nigeria has gone beyond this , my take us that it has hit below the waist line and elastic region.
