Quite objective.
While I agreed to this analogy is simply because Asians especially east asians are considered as having a high average IQ compared to other race in the world and I guess a high IQ person will not want to be used as a pawn by a foreign power.

But after monitoring weapon shipments to Taiwan for the last 24 months my perspective about peace is clear.
"If you want peace, prepare for war"

Since any country can wake up and attack another sovereignty that does not pose an existential threat to them, i don't see reasons why china can't unify it territory by military might when it is glaring that Taiwan is being prepared as future monkey wrench in that region.
Even the Chinese hierarchy will slap you for this statement! You want to wreck them? You thing war is like a pack of Dominos?
Maybe the US has made it easy that everyone thinks it's a walk in the park, but atleast learn from the Russians they've been bugged in for years with heavy losses.
That's what you wish for China?
Make Xi catch you first

The worst foreign policy a country can chart is trusting Russia as a reliable ally. Russia has repeatedly betrayed its closest allies. It betrayed Armenia during its war with Azerbaijan. It betrayed Assad, confided him to Moscow, and let his country crumble. Russia betrayed Iran during its six-day war with Israel. Now, even in Venezuela, Russia isn't a trusted ally for, aside from it usual vexatious acts of condemnation, it does nothing to help its ally deter foreign intervention.

Now, if for example, France tried to militarily intervene in Mali, Burkina Faso or even Niger, mark my words, Russia can't do anything
The stupidest thing is to think Russia will intervene for Burkina Faso. Like wth? What's the strategic importance of Burkina Faso?

I will really like to know one use of having Russia & China as an ally? They never come true for anybody, even that group of theirs that called themselves BRICS is useless, with the highest population, gdp. They can't sanction or put a voice together for one of their own nor can they fight the dollar, what is their use actually?

I have been hearing it but I didn't believe it, I just read that China actually get 70% of their oil from Venezuela, and they just let it go. don’t want to hear anyone hype China as a superpower anymore. If it really were, by now it would be in Taiwan, kidnapping its president and announcing: We run taiwan now! Instead? A lot of noise, zero action. Weak as hell.

Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, South Africa and Africa in general should never ever put reliance on these cowards.
Good news At least Nigeria go see oil sell, customer Don dey market. Bad news, another big rival marketer will come with competition 🤦‍♂️

People can't seems to learn. US won't repeat Iraq and Afghanistan not in the urban jungle of Venezuela. No boot on the ground but they might be guaranteed airstrike, political assassination here and there. They can be committed to this attrition but Venezuela can't they has no means of response and no help coming either.
Everyone knows(those with working brains) that a land invasion by the US is virtually impossible

Airstrikes and surgical operations are on the cards all day long

They would never achieve anything with that.

According to a comment I saw on TG, I don't know how valid it is though.👇

But I still believe this woman is involved in the collusion with the Yanks, and all these actions and statements are just 'necessary posturing ' to calm public opinions and prevent the situation from escalating. I doubt the Americans would take the rather bold step they took few days ago and simply say 'inshallah', leaving the rest to chance and strongly worded rhetorics. I do hope I'm wrong sha.

"A message from Venezuela to the world, and to the United States:

"Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to peace and peaceful coexistence. Our country aspires to live without external threats, in an environment of respect and international cooperation. We believe that global peace is built by first guaranteeing peace within each nation.

"We prioritise moving towards balanced and respectful international relations between the United States and Venezuela, and between Venezuela and other countries in the region, premised on sovereign equality and non-interference. These principles guide our diplomacy with the rest of the world.

"We invite the US government to collaborate with us on an agenda of cooperation oriented towards shared development within the framework of international law to strengthen lasting community coexistence.

"President Donald Trump, our peoples and our region deserve peace and dialogue, not war. This has always been President Nicolás Maduro's message, and it is the message of all of Venezuela right now. This is the Venezuela I believe in and have dedicated my life to. I dream of a Venezuela where all good Venezuelans can come together.

Yours truly
Delcy Rodríguez

Appleyard:
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

She could be acting up.

It is now clear that someone deep and highly placed within Maduro's inner circle sold him out.

But we don't know who. So, the political theatre is still foggy right now.

However, we are certain of some facts now:

1. During the operation, the US forces did come under attack, meaning, the Venezuela military (or a segment of it assuming a part was among the Judas) did engaged, and are willing to engage the enemy should the right order comes.

This opens the possibility that, should VP Rodriguez actually represent what she is saying right now, then she already has a well positioned military force that is ready to go on the offensive once the order is given. And that is where it gets scary. They will have to engage the side that sold out.

But, if she is not what she appears to be, then she must have to engage the side that engaged the enemy, which means open hostilities. Either way, Venezuela is bound for chaos--a Libya. Hafter 2.0 style.

I pray she is what she is talking right now.

2. The US said taking out Maduro was just the first phase. They are about starting the next phase, which is the most critical part of the operation.

If we are to go by this statement, and assuming at the same time that Rodriguez is actually the talk, it means one thing:

the US is preparing to install a puppet but their is a BIG opposition it must overrun to accomplish that goal.

Those massive ships at sea and huge military buildup along the entire coast of Venezuela isn't there for show.

The speed and perfection at which Maduro was removed was supposed to create the needed chaos especially within the military ranks. But so far, that hasn't happened. There has been no announcement yet from the military itself.

If everything continue to stay intact like this and VP Rodriguez turns out to be a genuine loyalist, the US will have to move in by force to take the country's capital ( I believe that is the Pentagon's plan in a worst case scenario. That was probably how they managed to convince Trump to go along with the operation.).

And that is where the fire crackers will start burning. I feel sorry for this country right now.

So long there are oppositions on the ground, Venezuela will burn.

3. China will now be forced into a reactionary position, not necessarily directly in Caracas at this time, but in the Indo-pacific sphere, particularly with Taiwan.

Already, Chinese media are hailing the US Maduro's move as a Taiwan TEMPLATE for China. Taiwan would be shitting in its pants right now and it's quite understandable.

China must prove to its other trade partners and the rest of the world that they're not lizards but truly dragons. Otherwise, they are already on the path down to losing influence and respect.

The fact that the Whitehouse have said Trump will discuss the kidnap of Maduro with Putin in any moment from now shows how little they actually think of and respect China and it's area of interests.

It is now left for Xi to correct this view.
Undoubtedly Trump plan in capturing Maduro is absolutely reckless. It so surprising how US do this without loss of some life's. For Trump to go ahead and do this when realistically this can claim the lives of few GI shows how reckless he can be. And this have little strategic importance than just boss show off (maybe I'm wrong).

But daring Chinese to carry out similar move is so dumb an idea. Not even the US with this might would do something similar if Taiwan is a foe.
People fail to realize how strategically powerful Taiwan is and with a strategic allies like the US. The war won't end well for China, not even a win will feel like victory.
What's the strategic importance of China annexing Taiwan? What do they want from Taiwan that they don't have? They want to risk it all just to prove to the world that China bites and not all talks?

Mind you realistically speaking there's no how China will attack Taiwan without first hitting US bases nearby in Guam and Okinawa cause these are strategically placed to respond to cases like this especially in the early stage of any invasion. So to increase any chance of success they'll have to carry our the pear Harbour approach, which itself is a direct declaration of war against US and Japan.
Now why will China risk a WW3? for what, Stupid emotions because the US is running wild around the world? Watin concern them and US?

Many of you guys lack tactical thinking and just work off emotions thats why you're not leaders
