Death is not the finality of life...for some die though they still live...when their comments just show every other thing about them is already dead.

You have a habit of supporting no sense.

Take a look at your screen shot and make sense out of it...... what's the purpose of a stamp duty and VAT on money transferred to ones personal account ?

Do you not know that a 100 deduction on that perosns money has made that money lose its value and intended purpose!!!!

If someone asks you for #2500 to buy something and you send that transfer and that money ia taxed, will its intended purpose be achieved and how?

Ignorance is a very big disease, this thing called TAX is not a daily or a monthly deduction. It is a yearly deduction, you only remit VAT monthly. There is a Stamp charge which is N50 which has been existing before now. Plus bank charges. My own opay has not charged me anything like that neither has my Sterling bank. Always use description in your transfer.

I thought they said it won't affect the poor?

Even POS operators have increased their 10,000 withdrawal charges to 300 Naira now, not considering that the sender is also deducted 50 Naira.

Any over taxation always affect the poor
Most of these guys are liers I have sent out about 180k this more I didn't notice any significant deduct from before, that idiot said he sent out 100k and got 60 something.

He pays 25 to 45 percent depending on how much he earned for that month.

He enjoys:
- Free top tier healthcare
- Quality education
- Clean environment
- 24hrs power/gas and clean water supply
- Good paying Job that even after paying his taxes, only corrupt politicians can come close to his earning in Nigeria.
- His children attends Good schools
- He's not afraid of insecurity
- e.t.c

Tell me, after paying 15 to 45 percent tax in Nigeria, what do you get in return?

Start with just basic amenities, forget about speed rail, hospital, research centers, etc.
In Europe, right?

What about USA?

Does he get free healthcare ?

Money from subsidy removal is enough for government if put in a normal and transparent usage. Creating more tax system is a punishment for citizens and also criminal. Some companies in Lagos are taxing their workers with total package of 120k including overtime of 7am to 7pm more than 20k per month.

So let me get this straight, when Pitobi wins in Lagos, it’s suddenly the sacred “will of the Lagos people,” but when he loses elsewhere, the anthem changes to rigging, rigging, rigging. For heaven’s sake, which kind people be dis? Was it not the very same election that was supposedly “rigged” from top to bottom? How does it magically transform into the people’s choice the moment the result is favourable?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, screaming “rigging” across social media rooftops will not launder a neatly packaged fraud into a stolen mandate. If he cannot master the rough-and-tumble of real politics, perhaps he should refocus on his beloved container economy.

He is neither the first to contest nor the first to lose an election, and no amount of online theatrics will result in the presidency being handed to him on a silver platter. They can scream “rigging” till their voices crack, reality, unfortunately for them, does not run on hashtags.
You again with your Hypocrisy mentality?

Please if you must engage me can you please tell me why Peter Obi who you accuse of running down Anambra state had over 90 percent votes in the same Anambra.

And Tinubu who built Lagos state from the scratch was given a bloody nose in the same Lagos that he built by Peter Obi?

Please do you have an answer to this?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

After removing subsidies that should make life easy for citizens. The next step is for Tinubu and Oloyede to be deducting monies anyhow from struggling individuals accounts without their knowledge or permission.
You voted for them so they have our permission

I remember when I wrote this:

My question about this tax law to the government is:

1. For those who are unemployed without a salary account, who determines what is income from inflow of money into an unemployed person's account?

2. How would the tax be paid by such an individual, would it be deducted automatically from his account(if it is, who did the separation and calculation to determine what was income and what was inflow?), if it is not automatically deducted, do they expect such an individual to do that himself when we know most Nigerians will likely not want to do that?

3. If the 1 and 2 here are not effective, what incentives and direct benefits have the government provided for the citizens to encourage citizens to pay their taxes?

4. If the number 1, 2 and 3 are not effective for both the government and the citizens, is this not a failed tax law?

5. Why is the government compelling citizens to comply like citizens of foreign countries while the government doesn't want to comply to behave like governments of foreign countries?
cos in countries citizens completely their politicians to comply but we want free lunch

This has always been the charges before the tax law.
Stamp duty has always been N50 the rest is bank charges or are you so poor that you have never transfered upto N10k before?
Anybody who has transferred N10k knows.
This is not tax law.

nigerian youths are the problem of this country, they just want everything without doing anything. To worship money in life is a disease. some people can die because of #20, imagine, someone faught POS operator cos she is charging 150 instead of #100. he was advised to go and use ATM, then he trekked to an fro to use ATM. is that life? tax is paid everywhere, rich people pays more. what we should be talking is how its being used for development.

There is no gutter, too stinky for you people to swim in, in your support of tinubu. Banks do business with her money and make profit which they do not share with her, they shouldn't be indiscriminately deducting money from her again. I thought you guys will note that it was labelled "fee" and not "tax" and use that in your criticism, but to say #87 isn't much? Is she richer than the bank? If the bank cannot forgo #87, why should she?
