Very gbamsomely. All eyes are on PBAT. All attention are on FGN. Poor PBAT. A man that is thinking more of the future of Nigeria and risking his popularity just to lay a solid foundation for the economy of Nigeria. He is doing the dirty job that others avoided and he's being called names. Personal Income Tax is strictly for your states. When Oti begins to build roads they will hail him but will hate the man that made it possible. Is it not crazy that the PITA we are using now was enacted in 1993. A whole 32 years. What were the past presidents thinking. Let's face facts neither Obi nor Atiku can ever put their minds in these areas but these are the foundations of great economies. |

Tareq1105:The level of illiteracy and DELIBERATELY planned disinformation by non-state actors and secessionists against the Tinubu Government is high and a national security risk. President 'Bola Tinubu's government is to be BLAMED totally for allowing these acts of disinformation from online trolls and opposition political parties to continue relentlessly. Tinubu himself likes to unwisely pride himself as a "Mr. Nice guy" and democrat by ignoring these fake news spreaders meanwhile he (and his close image makers online and offline are undoing themselves because unhecked fake news can lead to the collapse of any democracy. There is the newly signed 2025 Cyber Crimes Act which can be used to bring all these YouTubers, bloggers and online posters spreading disinformation in order to serve as a deterrent to others. There NO absolute freedom to spread defamation and disinformation anywhere in the world. Period. |

The biggest lie in this whole tax matter is that they are protecting the poor!. What defines poor? According to World Bank, extreme poverty is if you live on less than 3 Dollars a day. Maths time 3 dollars is about 4,200 a day which equates to 126k a month and about 1.5m a year. Yet the government's tax free allowance is only 800k meaning once you earn 800,001 naira a year, you are not considered poor! 800k a year equates to $1.58. Soooooo....ladies and gentlemen, according to our dear FG, if you earn 1.58 dollar a day , you are not poor meanwhile World Banks considers you extremely poor is you live on 2.99 dollar a day. Ire oooo |

If you wanted to truly protect the poor, tax exemption should have been pegged at N2.5m given the fact that your administration has almost wiped out the real middle class by your incompetence. Also, why increase the tax rate at the lower level? Why not leave it at 7%? What is even more interesting is that the lowest tax rate was increased by over 100% (7% to 15%) while the highest tax rate to which 'you', bat and other persons with questionable wealth belong to increased by just 1% (24% to 25%). So who is deceiving whom? |
