There is no evidence that Jesus actually lived, so what would a real historian write about him? It would be like writing a “history” of King Arthur or Robin Hood, about whom nothing is known but their names and some far-fetched legends. Was the magical sword in the stone historical, or the bible’s “virgin birth”? A serious historian would know there is no real evidence that Jesus existed. Just hearsay. All that we have is a “big fish” story in which a minnow became a whale. How did that happen? It happened because the gospels are fairytale book with: A virgin birth walking on water A ludicrous ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE and so on… As with other books of ancient mythology, we can’t assume actual events are being depicted. Thus, we have to seek confirmation outside the bible. But no one who lived at the time Jesus allegedly lived wrote a single word about him. The earliest extra-biblical mention we have of Jesus is an implausible blurb in the histories of Josephus, written long after the fact, if there are any facts. Furthermore, 92.4% of scholars who expressed opinions deemed the blurb a christian forgery, either largely or entirely. The next mention was by the Roman historian Tacitus, a century after the fact, and he got Pilate’s job title wrong, strongly suggesting that he was quoting what he had heard Roman christians say. And hearsay is not evidence. Thus there is no actual evidence that Jesus existed, or any of his apostles. An honest historian would conclude that he couldn’t write a history of Jesus, only conjecture. |

sonmvayina:1) Can you prove that Jesus did not exist? 2) Do you agree that there were many Jesus-like characters around that period, and many, many crucifixions? 3)Why would Christians adopt the cross, the utmost symbol of shameful death at the time, as their symbol? 4) Do you agree that it is a historical fact that Christians were indeed extremely persecuted by Rome in a bid to stamp them out. 5) Do you agree that instead of stamping out Chistianity, Christianity stamped out their Roman gods? 6) Do you agree that no other religion in the history of the world, founded by a mythical figure that never existed, has even come close to doing that. 7) Are you saying that People like Paul also never existed and his searingly personal and inspired letters were forged? 8} If you admit Paul existed, why would he be so passionate about a person he had no direct spiritual encounter with? 9) It is easy to say Jesus never existed until you start reading the details and minutae of the NT, then you realize that a) People who produced such profound words should aso have other works like that yet none exists. b) There is no reason for anybody to be making up some of those stuffs some of which did not put Jesus and Christianity in good light. c) If people like Paul never existed who traveled all those detailed travels and wrote all those passionate letters? 10) Jesus durring His time was a "nobody" in context of Roman empire. Asking why no contemporary historian wrote about him is like asking why no contemporary historian of British empire wrote about some obscure itinerant preacher in Akure with few followers and no meeting place, who was allegedly walking on water and raising the dead! |

sonmvayina:How many itinerant preachers of the time are mentioned in academic history books? You are conflating the stature of Jesus today with that of the time. He was a "nobody" and there were many end-time preachers like him at the time, and many, many people were crucified bolabizzle:No need to keep calling him ignorant. He's not the first to raise the point, and he won't be that last! |

QuinQ:I asked a question, why is Jesus not mentioned in any history text book? I went further to give my reasons why he is not found in them, because he was a mythical figure, much like all the other gods before him. 1. This is pretty easy, There is no material written by somebody who actually met him and he himself did not write anything and the gospels are not eye witness accounts....They are all written in the third person. They don't even know any body who knows anybody in the story they are telling. just like chinua Achebe knows nobody who knows Okonkwo Ebubedike..... 2. Yes, they might have been. There is a Jesus ben ananaias in the work of josephus, whose trial was copied and passed off as the Jesus of Nazereth. 3. Because it's a death cult. human sacrifice belongs to the realm of Lucifer. 4. The Romans persecuted most religion, the only one they recognized was sol Invictus and Mithraism. Constantine was sol Invictus all his life, he was baptized on his deathbed. 5.No, emperor Constantine wanted a single religion for his empire, he ask all the Presbyters to come to Nicaea to fashion out a new religion and they chose Jesus and forged documents to give it some credibility. 6. Hinduism is the oldest religion and it is still in existence today.....last time I checked, Khrisna is a mythical figure...so, Jesus is just a Johny just come... |

i QuinQ:7. Paul was created by Christianity. The works attributed to him are all works of Apolynius of Tyna. 8. He never existed, the story was told by Christians, no collaborative evidence. 9.The so called new testament is a work by those who actually invented the religion. A whole lot of forgery was going on at that time, notably by Eusebius... |

QuinQ:Really a nobody? so all the stories written about him in the gospels are all forgeries. thank you for proving my point. |

bolabizzle:so why is he not mentioned in real history text? |
| Re: Why Is Jesus Not Included In Academic History Books? by sonmvayina(op): 9:23pm On Jan 06 |
bolabizzle:I have done and what I found is Jesus if faith and religion. nobody by that name appears in history healing the sick or raising the dead, or a zombie apocalypse...or the sun being darkened or an earthquake..... none at all.... |

sonmvayina:And you were asked a question: you know those times were rife with messianic figures and end-time preachers. Why weren't any of them mentioned? 1. This is pretty easy, There is no material written by somebody who actually met him and he himself did not write anything and the gospels are not eye witness accounts....They are all written in the third person. They don't even know any body who knows anybody in the story they are telling. just like chinua Achebe knows nobody who knows Okonkwo Ebubedike.....But Chinua Achebe was not willing to be tortured and killed for Okonkwo 2. Yes, they might have been. There is a Jesus ben ananaias in the work of josephus, whose trial was copied and passed off as the Jesus of Nazereth. So you accept thst a Jesus existed, and Jesus-like figures existed, the only Jesus that you believe never existed is the Christian Jesus! 3. Because it's a death cult. human sacrifice belongs to the realm of Lucifer. And they picked a most shameful symbol, the cross, as their sign! 4. The Romans persecuted most religion, the only one they recognized was sol Invictus and Mithraism. Constantine was sol Invictus all his life, he was baptized on his deathbed. And they all disappeared todate except the smallest, Christianity, and you think it's just coincidence! 5.No, emperor Constantine wanted a single religion for his empire, he ask all the Presbyters to come to Nicaea to fashion out a new religion and they chose Jesus and forged documents to give it some credibility. But Constantine's own mother and top generals were already Christians at the time, and he himself said he won his biggest triumph through power of Christ! 6. Hinduism is the oldest religion and it is still in existence today.....last time I checked, Khrisna is a mythical figure...so, Jesus is just a Johny just come...How many people who claimed they knew Krisna died for Krisna? Besides, Krishna actually lived |
