I’m surprised that hunger didn’t decimate them. That is a tale of surviving adversity. The country should learn from their example.

When they give birth to too many children there cannot cater for.. what do you expect .
The children will be roaming about the streets begging for food and money and also doing petty stealing and when they grow up they become harden criminals and join bad gangs, banditry and terrorists.. give birth to the number of children you can cater for

And they are still producing more as we speak! The Northern elite deliberately weaponized poverty and illiteracy for decades just to use these kids as thuggery machinery during elections. Now the chickens have come home to roost. The "reserve army" they built has turned into a monster they can no longer control. 1980 till now? That’s 40 years of failed leadership!
So true brother.
These are the monsters they made.

So he is calling almajiris bandits and no one is nailing him to the cross for insulting Northerners. I'm sure if it was someone like Obi that said that, all hell would be let loose by now.

Ex-Naval Chief, Vice Admiral Samuel Afolayan Olajide and the OP are just a big fat liars

No child in the 1980s would be less than 50 years by now and most bandits are in their early 20s to at most 30 years of age.

Ex-Naval Chief, Vice Admiral Samuel Afolayan Olajide is just talking out of complete ignorance about Nigeria's security situation.

I am a Muslim I agree that every parent/guardian should train thier children in their presence or else government should prosecute the parents.
Or I forget that most of the parents will be willing to serve jail term to have access to free-food.
No one will be willing to do it if both the man and woman would be subject to hard labor while serving the jail term without access to each other. 🥱🥱🥱🥱

This Old man must be lair. He should have mention exact locations and time not just date. I am from the North and am not in support of Almajiri system. But I swear this old man was not telling the truth. We know the ppl who went being Almajiri and graduated are the most productive in the society. They made up the largest percentage of the local merchant, farmers and Islamic clerics. The system is not bad in itself just misunderstood by S.outherners.
The South produces the most educated people in the country I mean western education but they literally produces the most bad and evil ppl in the whole of Africa. The educated are using their knowledge and skills to defraud ppl around the whole giving the country a bad name. The Yahoo boys, Yahoo plus, the drug traffickers, the ppl in cult, prostitution, bastardry ie number of ppl born out of wedlock, endamic alcoholism and so on. In fact in the South human life has less value so much so that you can get lynched and burn with tire by merely stealing a loaf of bread.
Moreover, 99 percent of ppl engaging in banditry are bush fulani. And you rarely see fulani boy as Almajiri because they are busy tending to their livestock education doesnt matter to them as long as they have herd of cattle. This old man is just trying to be sensetional nothing more.

CHIEFCHICKEN:
it's their leaders who encourage men: under the pretext of religion to have multiple wives and children without no reasonable income. They are the ones stylishly creating that endless vicious cycle. It's a contraption, that keeps the poor poorer and subservient to the ruling class.

Why encourage people to have kids they can't afford? What is the future for those kids? Obviously, it's that of desperation and destruction.
Yet you overlooked pastors who are sleeping with the wives and kids of their members.
Yet you also overlooked pastors wives that are sleeping with members of their church
Yet you also overlooked that fact that most of the single parents that produce rapists, ritualists, incest are from Christian backgrounds
