hedonister:Molue was phased out by the Fashola Administration. Every year vehicle owners need to register their vehicles. Governor Fashola said that his administration had a policy of phasing out Molue by not registering them when their registration expired. |

BodyCount:Liar. Mass transist and BRT are the biggest buses plying sango/oshodi. No more Molue |
| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by Flangelo12: 9:03am On Jan 07 |
alanto:I'm sure we still have some. Personally, I think we should keep a couple of them on the roads for historical reasons. |
| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by alanto: 9:04am On Jan 07 |
Offpoint1:Before Mólue were scrapped. There were other buses. White and Blue buses but they are not Molue. They came before BRT. |
| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by alanto: 9:09am On Jan 07 |
Flangelo12:I agree but those buses are not Molue. Molue were locally built. I think they built them on trailer body or something but i remember that when I used to ride in Molue, the people that built Molue usually place their stickers inside the buses with their company address and contact numbers. |

hedonister:Hope you send a link when you finish. Please investigate how considering the volume of people in the bus that were packed like sardines, how did the conductor's know those that hadn't paid and were able to collect their money complete? |

| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by Akinrogun(m): 9:27am On Jan 07 |
judewrites:Point of correction, Molue was gotten from 'Mold e'. It was built from scratch by our engineers using tinplate gotten primarily from trailers etc You can confirm this from elderly (agbalagba). |

Akinrogun:Are you insinuating that molue bus was built from scratch in Nigeria? Maybe the body, but the engine was foreign. |

| Re: Are There Still Any MOLUE In Lagos? by Bhella5(m): 11:45am On Jan 07 |
Gbadugbakun:There are still some few number of them plying Oshodi to Sango but usually at night when most commuters are stranded you will just see them pull up. What follows is usually a stampeded effort to get on you forgot to add that Molue drivers are usually chain smokers and the play the lotto |

One of the biggest legacies before Sanwo-Olu leaves office would be to permanently scrap Molue and Danfo buses and replace them with a fully standardised public transport system, similar to what operates in most developed countries. This single reform would significantly reduce chaos on Lagos roads. All routes should be properly mapped and numbered, with clearly designated bus stops and terminals. Commuters would simply pull out their phones, check which bus runs from point A to point B, walk to the nearest bus stop, and get picked up. Each bus would be fitted with GPS tracking, allowing passengers to see real-time locations and estimated arrival times. There would be no job losses. Existing Danfo and Molue drivers would undergo retraining and transition into driving these standardised buses. In addition, private and licensed operators could participate, provided they meet strict certification requirements. Quotas should be issued, and the era of simply buying a bus, painting it yellow, and picking up passengers at will should be phased out completely. This system would also improve security. With fixed routes, numbered buses, and verified operators, incidents of passengers entering the wrong vehicle or being kidnapped would be drastically reduced. All buses should be equipped with LED route displays, GPS, live CCTV, air conditioning, and other modern safety features. Finally, the practice of hanging conductors should be eliminated. Passenger payments would be fully cashless, with commuters tapping in using their Cowry card across all buses. This reform would not only modernise Lagos transport but also restore order, dignity, and safety to daily commuting. |
