Former governor of Kano State and national leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared that he cannot be bought, insisting that he has no “price tag” in Nigerian politics.

Speaking on recent political developments in Kano State, Kwankwaso noted that while politics involves wins and losses, acts of betrayal often draw public resentment, especially as many Nigerians remained frustrated with insecurity and the state of the economy.

The former governor emphasised that the Kano electorate were politically aware and not easily swayed by inducements. “Kano politics is different. Where else in Nigeria would someone come to you with a bag of money expecting you to agree to their terms?” he asked.

Kwankwaso rejected the notion that all politicians have a price tag. “People often say that everyone in Nigerian politics has a price. If you want someone who cannot be bought, come to Rabiu Kwankwaso,” he stated, stressing that no one could purchase his conscience.

He also warned politicians and voters against being lured by short-term incentives during elections. “You endure hardship for four years, and then someone comes offering peanuts for a single day. And the cycle continues for another four years,” he said.

Urging political actors to uphold principles and prioritise the long-term interests of the people, Kwankwaso said leadership built on inducements and betrayal cannot achieve meaningful development.

LEADERSHIP reports that Kwankwaso spoke against the backdrop of reported moves by his protégé and Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusufu, to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Politics is about interests, at a time when almost every state is moving close to Federal to benefit more Kwankwaso wants to stay away. For whose interests? Personal interest or Kano peoples interests?

as for Kwankwanso.. they didn’t meet his conditions. Not only the money but am very sure he outlined some difficult conditions the APC couldn’t meet.

Kwankwanso for sure has a price. But I refuse your claim saying “everyone has a price”. Not everyone. Don’t use your own price tag to judge others. Some people has absolute integrity

There's nothing like integrity in Nigeria politics. Every Nigerian politician has a price. It does not necessarily have to be money, it could be appointments, contracts or something else.

Kwakwanso pls rest nobody is buying anybody, you came to us and demanded for Vice President automatically that is a greed and not possible, apc is not adc or Lp where obi just jumped into from nowhere and boom presidential ticket just like that it sound politically stupid.

This was how the evil El Rufai look at Tinubu by face and told him to divorce Remi and pick a new wife from the North and the new wife must be the "First Lady" simply Remi is a Christain and Tnubu got angry and said to that evil El Rufai how dare you? That was the beginning of El Rufai anger against Tinubu. El Rufai is alive confront him and ask him what I said in bold fonts.

-Here is a man ,who was a Kano governor for many years but he could not point to one particular Achievement in that State.
-Here is a Man that was made a Minister of Defense,but yet the Bokoham and Other Terrorists were tso rampant,all over Nigeria and is Telling Nigeria That he wants to Be President OR NOTHING!
