Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite is the minister of state for finance.

Hon. (Dr) Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite MD, CFA @DrDorisAnite

I am pleased to provide an update on the administrative progress regarding the match bonuses for our national team at AFCON 2025.

The Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) have successfully streamlined the foreign exchange processing to ensure our players are rewarded without further delay.

Going forward, the process will be fully streamlined to ensure faster, more predictable disbursements aligned with international best practice.

Here is the current progress:

• ✅ Funding: All group-stage bonuses were fully released and have now cleared the necessary regulatory stages.

• ⚡ Acceleration: We have implemented a fast-track conversion process to move funds into foreign currency, honouring the players’ preferences.

• 🏦 Disbursement: The final transfers to domiciliary accounts are currently in flight. Players can expect these funds to reflect starting today or tomorrow.

Our focus remains entirely on supporting the team’s welfare so they can maintain their incredible momentum in the knockout rounds.

We move forward with one goal: Bringing the trophy home! 🏆

Nigeria Govt is always Reactive instead of being proactive .

Life's actually very hard for the common man.

Some of us have no means of survival. Like today, no hope at all. Except God comes through.

Life is not balanced at all

And it couldn't have been done earlier to avoid this repeated embarrassment.

Sadly, it will be the same story in the next AFCON tournament.

Those guys are proving to be cowards. Is this the excuse and distractions they want to give if they lose? Many of them are collecting multiple times this bonuses on a weekly. But they want to bungle their chances because they are owed for less than a month.

The government is trying to save NFF face. Government is not meant to interfer in football. What happens to all the money fifa gives NFF? That federation needs to be probe. It's too corrupt.

You just said it as it is!

How can players be demanding USD when they are representing the Nation.

This USD payments should Stop!
Also withholding their allowances or bonuses should also Stop!

Some said they are demanding dollar because they live abroad, and the question is, do they live in the US?
When paid in Naira, they can convert it to whichever currency they use in Turkey, Europe or wherever

Re: Update On The Super Eagles Bonuses by michoim(m): 10:55am On Jan 08
What a lame excuse! So it is now that they want to start following International Best Practises. That means they have been following the Old local crooked practises, yet the Ministry of finance and CBN were receiving salaries for substandard works in the past... WHAT A COUNTRY!
