Avoid trouble as much as you can.
Oga it's worn in other countries like USA etc it's not a new thing ,
There's always a difference between Nigerian army camouflage and the ones sold in the market
Re: Lady Cries Out As Soldier Tears Her Camouflage Clothes In Lagos Market by wallrichy: 6:27pm On Jan 08
Sure, must be different cos most of us are wicked people. I have seen civilians wearing military camouflage and pretended to be military officers at Allen Avenue, Ikeja. They collected Dollars from Bureau De Change and ran away with it in their car.......

In context of Abroad that you mentioned, the Western Countries have grown over such insecurity we encountered here every day.

It's irrelevant if you wear camo abroad as long as you don't put on the full regalia of the military........

MT:
When people wear camouflage abroad, it’s a sign of solidarity with the military.

Nigeria own always Dey different
Re: Lady Cries Out As Soldier Tears Her Camouflage Clothes In Lagos Market by wallrichy: 6:29pm On Jan 08
Yes, worn abroad but not with the full regalia of the military like the ranks, emblem etc...... that's the limitation.....

Keep shut!
Bandits wearing camouflage kidnapping people every day. Armed robbers everywhere wearing military uniform and you are compounding security issues selling military uniforms. Nigeria is does not need that now. You are the one blaming government and also the one supporting nonsense.

Every country has their own laws. In Nigeria, its prohibited so follow the law and stop crying hen
Funny part is it's not a written law. They should formalize the order, pass the law.

The constitution of the land forbids civilians from wearing military camouflage otherwise you can be arrested and accused of a deeper crime that you will find it difficult to get out of. It’s pure impersonation to wear military gears against the backdrop of the present security realities. The soldier did well to take such preventative measures without further extension of the action.
Oga, it's no where in the Constitution. There's not even a prohibition act against it.

Why would camo-wearing military usurped the role of a police and be allowed to flee with foreign currencies.

Camo shouldn’t be blamed for the ignorance of people. Those thieves could as well put on suits and did the same thing. Camo should not be blamed in that context you cited

When we told the yorubas to support Peter Obi, they threw their lots for their kinsman.
Now see what is happening to them.
They should know that tinubu is in cahoot with the military.
Anyway, as you want it, so you are served.

I guess it was worn to deceive the Aboki doing the Bureau De Change. And ofcourse, they could be real military guys and could also be civilians that went to purchase the camo from open market to carry out the nefarious activities......Nigeria is a volatile country and we need to be very careful in as little things as selling of Camo etc......in the open markets.....it's not ideal for our current atmosphere.....Thanks

Yerima act 2 season 1 transfered from Abuja to Lagos.
they will always say they are not fools and they have integrity within civilian environment but facing bandits and terrorist....🐐
TheMensch:
Which one be due process?
The problem here is like their military laws allow them to do these kind of things without waiting for order. If their laws also permit them to go and ambush terrorists without waiting for order (like in this case), I don't think we would be having terrorism issues.

In developed countries, things like this don't happen

In fact in the US, Soldiers see it as an honor to see you wear camouflage...

Besides, it's not even an offence in Nigeria too. It becomes an offence when you wear a complete uniform and if caught and convicted, the fine is not even up to 500 naira.

So soldiers should stop all these... The lady is not posing any threat so why being treated that way?

In this shocking viral video from Katangowa Market in Lagos, Nigeria, a woman selling second-hand (OK) clothes breaks down as she recounts how a Nigerian soldier spotted military-style camouflage items in her stock and tore them to pieces on the spot.
The footage captures the chaotic market scene: piles of used jeans, shirts, and clothing scattered on the ground, with several camouflage-patterned pieces being ripped apart by hands (implied to be the soldier's). The distressed vendor, wearing a purple top, gestures emotionally while bystanders watch. No audio of the confrontation is clear, but the destruction is evident amid the bustling okrika (second-hand) market.

This incident highlights ongoing tensions over Nigeria's strict laws banning civilians from possessing or selling military camouflage (under Section 110 of the Criminal Code), aimed at preventing impersonation by criminals. While some view the soldier's actions as necessary for security, others criticize the destruction of private property without due process.

What do you think – was the soldier right, or did he go too far?
Soldiers are not law enforcement and cannot enforce the law on camouflage. This is self-help.

The soldier should call the police and not take laws into his hands.

The laziest army are always the most undisciplined, illiterate and abusers of innocent civilians.

If e pain you, wait for IBB to die. Locate his grave then pee on it. He was the one who set the decree and never cared to reverse it nor fight against its existence. Thirty-four years later, it still haunts us. It reminds me of the “only men on low cut are responsible” mantra that our grandfathers imbibed because the white man forced it on them. Three generations later, they still hold it tight.

We are slaves at the end of the day. Na only mouth wey dey use reject am. The truth shows otherwise.

Where in the US that you like to cite does anyone sell or wear military camouflage huh

I do not support the soldier taking laws into his hands, but we must jointly condemn the sale or use of military camouflage.

It is even a security issue as anyone ( bandit, kidnappers) can easily buy it and use to carry out nefarious activity.

Tinubu till 2031.

It can get to the hands of unscrupulous people who can use it to commit crimes. The soldiers are perfectly right since they only destroyed the clothes and not arrest or assault anybody

He should just have seized it since she's not a military officer and in procession of it.
If she doesn't want him to seize it then he can destroy it.
We all know it is unlawful to take pocession of it by their law.since we have our constitution and they have their rules too as regards their relationship with civilization which include that the civilians can not wear it, why take procession when you can't wear it and why sell what you know if they catch the buyer he must collect.
Same reason why when they fine uniforms at suspect pocession they just Confirm this is the culprit same as the bandits they are able to capture, why is the uniforms in their pocession part of what they display in the media during arrest?
