‘Fubara Is a Threat to Democracy’ — Speaker Amaewhule Barks During Impeachment Proceedings

Rivers State House of Assembly initiated formal impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu on Thursday, January 8, 2026, intensifying the state's political crisis.
In a plenary session chaired by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, Majority Leader Major Jack tabled a notice of gross misconduct against Fubara, supported by 26 lawmakers. The allegations, under Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution, cite financial recklessness and legislative obstruction—including failure to submit budget documents, unauthorized expenditures, diversion of House and Service Commission funds, demolition of the Assembly complex, and disregard for financial autonomy court orders.

hmmmm. How humans conveniently mask their real intentions and say something else is beyond me. See the speaker vibrating as if he is actually his own man. Na waoooo

Seconded

Fubara is a green snake under the green grass

Modified: This is good news.
You don't fight the finger that made you.
Wike made Fubara despite the fact that his(Fubara) name still appears on EFCC's wanted list till today.
When someone in politics brings you to power, it's an honourable thing for you to be extremely loyal for future prospects.
Or Wiked used him to steal 600 B

If you understand the unique nature of godfatherism and politics in Rivers you will realize that even if Wike installed his son in office, all the werey rough fight will still happen. Even that Martin wey dey follow Wike without using his brain will behave worse. Do you know what it is to be Executive Governor of Rivers State?? Even principalities and powers recognize that office! You cant even begin to quantify the powers and resources in that office. Make una no forget say Sim know where all the bodies are buried. Secondly, Wike needs to realize that one day he will no longer be relevant in the scheme of things and after he has "completed" his assignemnt in Abuja, he will retire home to his palatial mansion on Ada George Road....He will age.....he will no longer be relevant in the scheme of things.....and the number of "Oga we came to greet you" will start to reduce...his children will have their own homes and will become visitors in Port harcourt. By the time you become know in the vilage as that old man that like trouble nobody go find you.
What is the difference between Rivers state and Delta state??

Politics in Nigeria is the same everywhere… There is Godfather in the North ask around… You don’t go out into the streets and bite your Godfather unless you’re a wicked ungrateful wizard

What if "the finger that made you" wants to destroy you? Do you just offer your neck to be slaughtered because they made you?
Agreement is agreement… you should have known from the beginning that this kinda arrangement would destroy you before accepting it

True or false??

1. In the beginning, I thought Fubara is wise but I was wrong.....

2. He thought his trouble will be over by decamping to APC but alas, it just started.

3. He turned his back to his parent (PDP) by lashing out to them, now, he is fighting with a Wi(c)ke(d) man.

If the impeachment succeed, he is completely finished...

Odili to Amaechi to Wike to Sim. ...how many successors remained sub-servant to their predecessors?? The role of godatherism in politics only favours a 0.01% which doesnt work for the masses. The rate at which Wike is going, he is gonna have way too many enemies that his nuisance level will peak and he will become a liability. Make Tinubu secure 2027 fess. How can you compare the North to the South? A region where poverty and religion have been weaponized?
