Punishing him for doing what exactly??
For saying the truth about his dad being the sole financier of the family?
If truth pains you, then you have a problem
I don’t know which part of the country you’re from, or your age… but before Nigeria became this bad, if a child wasn’t going to school or the farm in a community, community members or neighbours would query the parents on why the child was not going to school or farming. They weren’t the ones paying the school fees; they did it because they didn’t want the child to become a problem in the future. That’s why they asked questions. The same thing applied to a female child following males up and down in a community community members would report the child to her parents.

Back to the post, it’s the father’s responsibility to pay the school fees. Even if the woman works and earns more than the husband, a sensible wife will give the money to the husband to complete the school fees of her children, even without the children knowing that their mum contributed. I don’t know what transpired here; all I see is the failure of the parents in raising a child properly. When I stayed with one of my uncles years ago in Abuja, I noticed this, and within six months of my stay, it was corrected with punishment and cane. You must respect your parents, especially your mother.

The father set the stage for this. If my boy ever raised his voice to my wife he's dead. I will start all over until I die trying or get it right

There is no way the woman would have provoked her son for him to utter such words.

This boy is on the path to learn things the hard way

The trend now is to teach children that they owe no respect to their parents. When they grow up with that mindset and become adults, they become willing agents of state control.

Such people can be easily weaponized against their family the moment an external bad actor needs to get something from their home

Nigerian women need to do better when it comes to raising their boys. All these women married to men they keep propping up—awon cover your husband's shame endurance wives out there —, pretending that they do good by reducing their efforts to make the man look good, only to keep hurting their children with these lies. How in the world would these boys understand the true value of their mothers in these relationships if they are constantly seeing their mothers lying on behalf of fathers who may be nowhere in the picture? undecided

I am not certain what transpired, but given that the woman posted the video, it seems she feels her efforts in the home go unappreciated, and something (bitter feminism and narcissism) tells me it may have to do with her not telling her children the truth. undecided

That boy's resentment towards his mother did not come out of nowhere. He has probably had it for a long time that the mother is merely a mooch who contributes nothing to his life and development as a whole, and that is a problem that mothers need to pay attention to early in their development. undecided

I don't like giving response to cL0wn with so much deficiency from brain to cells and other functioning systems that made there being, but it seems am gonna giv such opportunity to one now,to assimilate and comprehend might take u a decade to decode my opinion, now how do you get over ur kids like, how do the understand you because some comprehension skill is lacking behind here,I do say what I say, most women don't do much on there kids,is more of living all responsibility to a man just because he is the head of the house,we need some system mostly in africa which father and wife input when it comes to there household, raising a kid should be a two ways thing between a mother and a father, not some kind of street ghetto mama get pregnat at 12 in the street nd dad run away,i mean a home with happy married couples, ooh what am even saying mayb I should not go this lowest quoting someone who don't want to get over with peoples opinion ,a married happy home should share responsibilities, letting the kids to know that both are contributing ,not just only letting one partner feel superior and most hardworking to the kid just because the providing at that moment
The trash you just vomited is how an African man wants his home to be run even , feeling that will acord him much respect from the children and wife then the society. And when the woman says no ,hell let loose she is not sumissive.both genders need a lot of orientation on home building. undecided

Eriokanmi:
There should be a special day set aside as men's day here @ Seun Osewa, where men should be celebrated and asked to share experiences so the singles here can learn something.

Most women contribute nothing in marriage than give birth, even the intimacy aspect, some men would still be the ones to always make the move. Marriage can be tiring and we men always need encouragement, intimacy can also be less interesting and monotonous not because you're promiscuous or you have ojukokoro but because you've got loads of responsibilities on your shoulders as a man. This is the reality. In all these, we still stay committed and faithful. She comes to you only when she feels like, not because she feels you want intimacy and if you say you're too tired due to work stress and she should give you sometime, she begins to suspect you, until that day you broke down and the dr says your hbp is too high.

She cries out in case things go awry and says she doesn't even stress you at all. She won't remember when she nags uncontrollably at you and all the responsibilities you shoulder. She doesn't remember you have just one life, one body and one brain to organise things. She brings her bills and you still settle everything without complaining.

I salute the bravery of this young man, though not every child could be that vocal.

While we shoulder our responsibilities as men without complaining, most women do little or nothing and not because they don't have, but because they're selfish. It's same habit globally, irrespective of race or ethnicity. Men always have high BP,heart attacks and other health issues early in life, not because it's hereditary. Marriage stress is mainly the contributing factor and that's why I always encourage men to create time to enjoy. I'm not talking about sex. Sex is the least of man's form of enjoyment cos you're the one losing both financially, spiritually and healthwise. If you can afford travels, spend the money, enjoy spas and massage, go on sightseeing. These are highly therapeutic to your soul. Stop working your ass out cos that money will be spent anyhow, should the unexpected happen. And if you cant afford travel, find time to give yourself a nice treat. She will still leave you to spend time with her children when you're old. Always remember YOLO

Enough said
Ona too mumu...

So many paragraph of nonsense.

When you give birth, train your son to insult and abuse your wife because you provide everything.

Fowl brain.

Ha ha ha...
In fact, for me after the apologies and explanations one of the first things is for them to say "I have boiled water for you. Go and bath so you that you will enjoy your body."

SpencerForbes:
Back then, the routine was classic: they’d feed you first, give you a proper beating right after, and you’d cry yourself to sleep only to wake up to apologies and a lecture on why you messed up.

The wild part was that reporting it to your dad usually just meant a second round of discipline. You could get it for something as small as coming in second place in class. Even now, I catch myself about to do something and feel like my mom is standing right behind me.

I have so much respect for that generation of mothers—they actually raised us with backbone. It’s a far cry from the "slay mama" culture today, raising effeminate and disrespectful men and masculine and rude girls.

yes african wants in his home because if talked about sharing bills at home, you guys talk about him been irresponsible, you don't say all african man in general, will hell loose if a woman support her hubby just because he never asked for that, who on earth will never liked to be giving a leaning shoulder or helping hand, that's how you guys expect a dying man on sick bed to foot bills to feel respected, when it comes to been of help to your man, it becomes of african stuff,I hate selfishness, maybe some time salt got finished in the house we wait for african man to be back from work to get some money for salt before cooking commence just because we want to accord some shit to another man son in you guys hand and society. In this situation you don't liv every bill to your man to foot, let your kids get to know both dad and mum contributed to make the best out of there happiness, most when it comes to things like fees, recreation outing or leisure, shopping, let them understand that is not just about dad's money but mummy's money is involve in making u guys happy. We should stop all this leaving it to a man to do everything, the world is evolving, help your partner in some ways

I blame the mother for exchanging words with him. She should have reset his fish brain with slaps, and any attempt to fight back should follow with a grave punishment: a night in a police cell.

I'd prefer not to have any children than have a kid like him. I am certain he talks down on his mom because his father also disrespects her too.

The other day in my neighborhood, I overheard a boy outrightly insulting his mom, and even called her a prostitute. Pathetic lots!
Trust me, it's the father. Children watch and learn without saying a word. That's how the father has been treating the woman and he's been watching since being a toddler. And today he's doing the same. If the mother should touch him now, the man may come back attacking her. That family is gone.
Re: “You’ve Never Paid School Fees Here” — Boy Confronts His Mother by DeGLORIOUS: 7:09am On Jan 09
I bet you, if she try it, that boy will beat her. The boy has lost respect for the mother. I want to believe that she's the cause. For a boy to be this fearless against his mother, the mother hasn't been disciplining the children right from tender age. A mother that wakes up every day to prepare her children for school, cook for them, bath them, wash their clothes, pray for them, and also correct them when they go wrong, even if she's not the one paying the school fees, the children must have some respect for her. May be it's kind of house where a nanny does everything. In this situation, it's only the father that can correct this and the mother must retrace where she got it wrong and make some amendments.
callmeDDD:
And mama carry phone and telling him , you will see your self on social media instead of carrying an oraimo cord and wipe the demon out of his head. No matter how, if care is not taken, na that boy go still kill her. Na this kain boy dey abandon their mother totally when they make it.

No matter how frustrated he may be, it is left for his parents to sort things out with the school.
This is not a true definition of African mother, she is a careless and a weaken mother. Even at old age, you dare to insult some grandma's, they will give you wotowoto.
Or may be that's how she is being insulted and bullied by their father. We don't really know the foundation of their problem at home.

Morally that woman is the problem of that boy, she never raised him right and will regret it forever.

We are six boys no sister.

We can never try that with our mum, all your body go finish with her teacher training experience.

I doubt if that boy does any thing at home cos the mum is afraid of the little man she carried in her womb.

Me when growing up was very stubborn among my brothers but my mum discipline kept me in check cos my dad do travel for work.

That woman need to change her orientation about bringing up that boy or face the negative consequences in the future.

Today I’m always happy with the training I had.

I don't even want to believe the woman is her Mother or maybe there is something we don't know yet...maybe she is her step mom... But she is actually his biological mother then the woman must be very stup*d to have sat down and record while his uncultured son was insulting her. She should have sounded his ears and his face..

Huuuuunnnhh.
The boy is saying the reality of many families in Nigeria.
Mother never makes any effort in paying any money for her children schools bills.
All bills must be paid by the Father even when Mother can afford some of the money.
However, it is very rude of the boy to have addressed his Mother in the manner he has done it.
The Mother also is not a strong Mother in her own home.
This type of kid supposed to have received good wiring or dirty slaps left and right to reset his brain 🧠.
God help us more

I honestly can't relate. We attend military secondary schools, I was an ex-boy, my immediate younger one went to AFMs, the other girl was an ex-commando(ipaja) while the last attended NNSS Ojo. So descipline was installed early on. All it takes is for your mum to report you to RSM and you will serve Job tire cry
You were so lucky, lols, if 'ones' indiscipline ever got 'out of house', treatment by whomever at school would be mercy. Our proximity to military police was probably separated by thought. Infact, at one time their head was our neighbor, lols.

That being said, aside from the discipline part, I think better encapsulation (used in the context of OOP) should be applied when conveying stuff like this to children. Their understanding is mostly not developed enough to understand sacrifice in unions such as marriages. Also marriages have different dynamics, it might be either one of the two (or more parents) contributing or both or a completely external third party but that doesn't necessarily give them the right to talk down on any party. Somethings are better said in equivalent simple terms to hide details because the children may not understand the nuances in sacrifices or arrangements in doing so by the partners involved in the union.

The encapsulation hide details these young ones would so emotionally in their still developing minds attach more value to. Some things they won't ever understand untill they grow a bit older, or get a bit of experience as they age.

So it is not all wrong when it is said things like "school fees" were jointly contributed, or at least you make the counts closely equal when attributing of one party at a time.

People marry for varied reasons and their arrangements of contributions/sacrifices also differ even with the so call traditional box people encase this 'typeof' on. Marriage for sex, marriage for purely economic reason, marriage for influence, etc. Why would one want to burden children with a fraction of knowledge which seemingly make one party "less" without a more adequate consideration.

Wait... 😳 No USB cord or even an old bathroom slipper in that house? And he actually had the nerve to tell his mother, "I don’t blame you," to her face? 😞

This is beyond Gen Z behavior.

Honestly, posting that video makes her look like a bad mother. Why share it online instead of actually correcting or punishing him? This is exactly why some guys are hesitant to marry younger women. If you can't even raise the kids right, what exactly are you bringing to the family?
The woman failed woefully in her financial and moral contribution to the family!
