Governor Fubara Begins Creek Road Market Construction

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has commenced the construction of the Creek Road Market to boost commercial activities and support urban renewal in the state.

Demolition of old, dilapidated structures is currently ongoing, while sections of Creek Road have been converted into a temporary market pending the completion of the project.

The new market will feature modern shops, improved sanitation, proper drainage, and enhanced security.

Traders have welcomed the development but appealed for a transparent allocation process that prioritizes original shop owners and long-standing traders.

Moral lesson: A good man is a good man, in the mist of all the wahala around him, he is still doing the reason he was elected into power, not that noise maker Wike.

Wike vs His Ambition

I read that Fubara has traveled to France to meet with Tinubu. Good. But I doubt if there will be a public showdown between the presidency and Wike.

Tinubu may not speak publicly about the Rivers crisis again because he is not someone who talks a lot unlike the parrot in Rivers, who boasts and issues threats over every move he makes.

Tinubu went out of his way to intervene once and took sides with Wike suspending the governor for 6 months, yet Wike is still attempting to disrupt events and cause endless chaos.

Tinubu understands something critical that if Wike, who is neither president nor someone with Tinubu’s political structure or reach, succeeds in impeaching Fubara, he will become larger than life, and with access to the Rivers treasury, Wike could amass enormous power and eventually pose a threat to Tinubu himself.

We saw a glimpse of this in 2023, when Wike bought off PDP delegates, until those who understood the political chessboard countered him by merging Atiku and Tambuwal’s delegates for Atiku. Tinubu witnessed all of this and knows exactly the kind of political force Wike can become when backed by money.

For this reason, Tinubu will maintain his silence, but he will cut Wike down to size by ensuring he no longer has easy access to funds. At the federal level, Wike no longer controls money the way he once did. What remains is access to Rivers' treasury, because if he loses that, his ambition to be VP or President is dead. So, this is about survival for Wike. And he will rather die than have what will buy him power taken away from him.

The Rivers crisis is about one man's ambition to control Rivers and forcefully be your VP or President in the future. Wike should be resisted.

My first time of seeing Fubara's project in the news.

Most of the news about Fubara are about fighting Wike, Impeachment, State of Emergency etc.

Nice analysis. But you chose to ignore present facts about instability in Nigeria and that there might not be an election or even a country called Nigeria in the nearest future.

Who's wike again? He should leave the man alone. He's no longer the governor and that should sink. Rivers government house belongs to the people of Rivers and not an individual. If he said he endorsed fubara...and so? Did he put himself there when he too was governor? People like Jonathan and his wife didn't hang on his neck when he was governor the way he's doing to fubara. What's his problem? Pride goes before a fall. We shall see where he will end up

You are wrong and only wielding sentiments here. The whole drama is deeper and neither Wike nor Fubara is a saint here. Until all of us,the populace stop the lazy game of lame just doing online analysis ant get more actively involved in the electioneering process, the status quo remains. Those 2 guys went into some unholy agreements behind the door and the governor never deny this. You and I can not prefer to be judging who is right or who is wrong.

Fubara is not better than Wike, let's stop all the sentiments pls. And for your information, there is no ground whatsoever for Tinubu to go against Wike in this matter being a godfather himself and someone who understands all the dynamics involved. Wike remains loyal to Tinubu course and is delivering heavily in Abuja. At last, Tinubu will still prefer to standby Wike having tested him already.

Moreso, wike is not so daft not to have entered into some agreements with Tinubu in 2023 before throwing his weight behind the president. Fubara is the betrayal here. If he had entered into any agreement as an adult, he should fulfil his own part. If he is not principled enough to fulfil his own part or resign, then he is the only cause of the whole unpalatable drama we are all witnessing

You have tried in your assertion but you spoke on short term limits.

Wike is on it for the long term irrespective of what happens.

The question to ask yourself, do you think after PBAT tenure, there's anyone in APC that will bring out funds generously offered to the right people in the various States to ensure they come out victorious in the elections after PBAT?

Age will not be on PBAT sides if he completes the second tenure and hands over to his choice candidate from the North.

This game is way beyond even what we are all thinking and analyzing.
